In his early years,Mao Zedong was influenced by Chinese traditional philosophy, and then educated by western bourgeois philosophy, which formed his early philosophy after a critical absorption.Mao Zedong was not a Marxist at the beginning, but in the process of exploring the road of saving the country and the people,he experienced the transformation of his philosophical position from idealism to dualism and then to dialectical materialism and historical materialism. The development of Mao Zedong’s early philosophy is closely related to his exploration of the road of saving the country and the people. In the process of his exploration,Mao Zedong insisted on transforming his subjective world along with hisobjective world, experimented with the theory of transforming the society in time, cleared away all the theories in his mind that were not suitable for reconstructing China, and gradually realized the transformation of his philosophical position. However, there are still different views on the position of Mao Zedong’s early philosophy in his life and the transforming time, stage division, influencing factors, completion standards and other aspects of Mao Zedong’s early philosophy. This paper analyzes Mao Zedong’s early philosophy with the worldview and methodology of Marxist philosophy, and grasps the process, characteristics, influencing factors of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position transformation and their enlightenment on contemporaries. This paper is divided into six parts. The first part is introduction, including the research background, significance, current situation, methods and innovation of the topic. The second part defines the related concepts, which are Mao Zedong’s early philosophical thought,Mao Zedong’s philosophical thought and philosophical position, and the transformation time of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position. The third part pursues the influencing factors of the formation of Mao Zedong’s early philosophy, including family education, the influence of Chinese traditional philosophy and cultural thought, western modern philosophy and modern people with lofty ideals. The fourth part analyzes the subjective and objective conditions of the transformation of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position. The fifth part probes the basic process of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position transformation, which is divided into three stages: the early idealistic world view(before 1916),the transformation from idealism to dualism(1916-1918),and the transformation from dualism to Marxist Philosophy(1919-early1921).The sixth part analyzes the characteristics of the transformation of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position and its enlightenment on contemporaries. It holds that the process of the transformation of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position has two characteristics: one is to accept Marxism on the basis of summing up practical experience;the other is to understand Marxism in the effort to learn from the people. The transformation of Mao Zedong’s early philosophical position sets up Marxism for contemporary youth, with three enlightenments: to establish lofty ideals and beliefs and integrate personal dreams into Chinese dreams,to adhere to good style of study and carry forward the practical spirit of combination of knowledge and practice, and to be brave in exploration and adhere to scientific spirit and revolutionary spirit.
