| Interruptions are part of everyday life and are notoriously destructive.In the Internet information age,the online information acquisition and processing ability of employees are facing greater challenges,and higher requirements are put forward for the task performance improvement of employees.Employees are also faced with the interruption of various online messages in their daily work.In the process of dealing with the interruption of online messages,it is particularly important for employees to respond to online messages more effectively and improve their subjective task performance.At the same time,the fear of missing out also affected the relationship between online message interruption and responsiveness,and the time pressure to complete the main task also affected the relationship between responsiveness and subjective task performance.Based on the above reasons,this paper aims to explore the impact of online message interruption on responsiveness,thus affecting subjective task performance,as well as the moderating effect of fear of missing out between online message interruption and responsiveness,and the moderating effect of time pressure on responsiveness and subjective task performance.This study based on Affective Event Theory and Regulatory Focus Theory,in the workplace employees as samples,using 1218 valid questionnaires,a total of 203 people’s data,using the experience-sampling method(ESM)and empirical analysis method,to verify the proposed model and put forward the relevant hypothesis,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)Online message interruption has a negative relationship with subjective task performance.(2)There is a positive relationship between online message interrupt and responsiveness;There is a negative relationship between responsiveness and subjective task performance;Responsiveness mediates between online message interruption and subjective task performance.(3)Fear of missing out intensifies the positive relationship between online message interruption and responsiveness;Time pressure aggravates the negative relationship between responsiveness and subjective task performance.The results of this paper theoretically enrich and expand the research on the relationship between online message interruption,responsiveness,subjective task performance,fear of missing out and time pressure.According to the research results of this paper,the following practical significance is proposed: reduce online message interruption in the organization,and create a good organizational atmosphere;Establish appropriate interruption-responsiveness mechanism to reduce irrelevant online message response;Alleviate employees’ anxiety and reduce their fear of missing out;Give employees more freedom to work,reduce the time pressure of employees. |
