| With continuous expansion of reform and opening up,China’s tourism industry is also developing rapidly,which attracts many overseas tourists.Therefore,tourism texts translation is important.This Chinese-English translation project is about introduction of Beidi Mountain Tourist Area,aiming to attract more overseas tourists,expand international market and further enhance internationalization of Guangxi’s tourism industry.Meanwhile,this project also involves Hakka’s culture and customs in Guangxi,which is conducive to the publicity of unique culture of Guangxi and disseminating Chinese culture abroad.This translation project belongs to tourism text translation.And the researches of schema theory at home and abroad and the classification of schema theory are summarized in the report.Under the guidance of schema theory,the introduction of Beidi Mountain Tourist Area is taken as the translation object and the factors that restrict the translator’s decision-making in the process of translation are analyzed.At lexical level,typical translation skills of omission and paraphrase are put forward to deal with translation of Chinese four-character words and cultural words with Chinese characteristics.At syntactic level,it focuses on the differences between Chinese and English sentence patterns.And translation of sentence order adjustment,voice transformation and sentences without subject are analyzed.As for semantic coherence at the discourse level,adjustments of redundant and loose structure are emphasized.Based on schema theory,this report provides a new perspective to guide and study the translation process of the introduction of Beidi Mountain Tourist Area,promoting the publicity of Guangxi’s tourist attractions and Hakka’s culture.And it hopes to provide some reference for the study of English translation and translation practice of tourism texts. |
