The Ecological Narration Of Cao Wenxuan’s Initiation Novels

Since ancient times,there has been an inseparable connection between ecological nature and literary creation.The natural ecology is not only the object through which the creative subject expresses emotions,but also an important reference to reflect on the relationship between nature and human.As a Chinese contemporary children’s literary writer who won the International Hans Christian Andersen Award,Cao Wenxuan authored many "initiation novels" to express the relationship between children’s growth and natural ecology.The rich ecological thoughts in these works show strong ecological feelings among the texts,and the influence of ecological consciousness is also reflected in the narrative form.Therefore,by taking Cao Wenxuan’s initiation novel as the research object,taking narratology and ecological aesthetics as the specific guidance,and looking at the ecological consciousness in Cao Wenxuan’s novels from multiple levels,we aim to express the "ecological narrative phenomenon" in his works for analysis and interpretation.The full text is divided into six parts:We summarizes Cao Wenxuan’s novel creation and research status,and clarifies the concrete connotation of "initiation novel" and "ecological narrative" in the introduction.We also elaborates the related theories of ecological criticism,and points out the feasibility and significance of the study of Cao Wenxuan’s initiation novels by using the ecological perspective.We discusses the two forming foundations of the author’s ecological consciousness one by one in the second chapter.One is the acceptance of Chinese classical ecological thoughts,and the other is the influence of the writer’s childhood experience and personal experience.We discusses two types of ecological themes represented by "ecological suffering" and "civilization inquiry" in Cao Wenxuan’s initiation novels,and focuses on the writer’s examination of the relationship between human and nature in the third chapter.We discusses the three types of ecological images represented by Cao Wenxuan’s initiation novels,such as "river","rural" and "animals",so as to have a close look at the ecological thinking and aesthetic pursuit of the writer in the fourth chapter.Weexpounds the ecological tendency of his growth novel in narrative perspective,narrative structure and narrative language from the perspective of narrative art in the fifth chapter.We discusses the practical significance of Cao Wenxuan’s ecological narrative from the two dimensions of ecological reflection and educational significance in the sixth chapter.At last,we summarizes and evaluates the ecological narrative in Cao Wenxuan’s initiation novels.
