| Vocabulary,as the basic unit of language,undoubtedly plays an important role.High school students’ English writing fully shows how they use vocabulary,especially lexical collocation.But,sadly,the ability of lexical collocation is quite weak and there are various mistakes in language expression.With the rise of corpus linguistics,many researchers at home and abroad carry out a series of lexical collocation studies with the corpus and retrieval tools.Although these studies have been full of certain research value and responded to many practical problems in teaching,there are few studies on lexical collocation involving high school students.This paper based on many literature introduces the current research of collocation and lexical collocation at home and abroad,analyzes the research characteristics of lexical collocation errors based on corpus,and illustrates the importance of native lexical collocation in English writing.It is based on interlanguage theory and language transfer theory.Firstly,all kinds of lexical collocation errors from Sub-corpus ST2 of CLEC(Chinese Learner English Corpus)are retrieved and sorted through the Corpus Retrieval Software Word Smith Tools 7.0.,which includes noun-noun collocation errors(CC1),noun-verb collocation errors(CC2),verb-noun collocation errors(CC3),adjective-noun collocation errors(CC4),verb-adverb collocation errors(CC5),and verb-adjective collocation errors(CC6).Secondly,all of them are expounded in detail,and the interlanguage features and reasons of lexical collocation errors are summarized.It shows that they mainly involve the following aspects: the lack of English lexical collocation restrictions awareness;vague collocates and its narrow semantic scope;the semantic redundancy or repetition in lexical collocation;the exclusion of semantic features in lexical collocation;the meaning explanation overused and the collocates inferred according to the literal meaning of mother tongue.The main causes of lexical collocation errors are interlingual interference,mother tongue interference and teaching induction.Finally,based on the study results,the researcher puts forward several teaching suggestions for front-line English teachers,including providing students with sufficient and native language materials,introducing corpora and retrieval tools into language teaching,using contrastive analysis to teach vocabulary collocation,and encouraging students to acquire basic vocabulary with lexical collocation dictionaries. |
