| As a famous poet in Wei and Jin dynasty,Ruanji’s ‘Yonghuai poetry’(82 poems)have been well known for its implication and meaning, which is highly praised by later scholars.During the regime change period of Wei and Jin dynasty, the high regime pressure made famous scholars suffer from both physical and mental hardships. As a representative figure,Ruanji was unable to deal with the regime change and social situation, and could only express his true feelings in his poems through images implicatively. Therefore,‘Yonghuai poetry’ reflect Ruanji’s insights and thinking of social life.Imagery is an important means and artistic feature to express this feeling and thinking, and also an important reason why the meaning of poetry is obscure and difficult to find. This paper explores the creation of imagery in Ruanji’s Yonghuai poetry from three aspects: thought patterns, spatial dimension and aesthetic characteristics. Its unique poetic charm can be expressed. In addition to the introduction and conclusion, the main paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter mainly explores the thought patterns of image creation in Ruanji’s Yonghuai poetry. The thinking feature of image creation in Chinese classical poetry is vivid figuration. The poet expressed his own subjective thoughts by ‘observing objects with taking images’,‘comparing images with classes’ and ‘creating image with implications’.Under the influence of this vivid figuration,Ruanji’s images cover all kinds of natural things. No matter it is the concrete and sensible object image,or the event image that appears in the literature and classics,or the abstract and condensed mind image, these are all the subjective condensation. The second chapter mainly discusses the spatial dimension of image creation in the poem. This paper regards the text of the poem as a complete space independent of the objective reality, and analyzes the multi-levels of its poetic space.Ruan Ji created the spatial sense of poetry through the spatial image of the specific field and the combined natural objects in the poem. These subjective images, born in the objective reality, subtly reflect people, things in reality, and deep spiritual space. These subjective images show that Ruan Ji,on the one hand, wanted to gain spiritual freedom,on the other hand,he was trapped in the mire of reality and unable to extricate himself from his painful mood. The third chapter discusses the aesthetic characteristics of the image in the poem. The period of Wei and Jin dynasties was unique, although extremely chaotic and political suffering,it was brilliant in both literature and philosophy.Under the influence of the sinister political situation and Laotse and Chuang Tzu’s thought, the images created by Ruan Ji in Yonghuai poetry highlight the hidden beauty of the words and sad feeling, forming the unique artistic charm of that era. |
