| In recent years,the development of teachers has been an important issue in the field of education.As a part of education group,teachers’ individual ability and level are limited,which cannot meet the needs of education and students in the new era.Compared with individual autonomous learning,group learning is more suitable for the development of modern society.As a new learning trend,teacher learning community is more and more popular among young teachers.The existing research mainly focuses on the study of teacher learning community,but the research on junior high school English teacher learning community is less.Therefore,this study mainly combines the learning community with the development of junior middle school English teachers,aiming to investigate the current situation of junior middle school English teachers’ learning community in five middle schools in Xi’an.These five schools in Xi’an are high tech No.1 middle school,Qu Jiang No.1 middle school,Xi’an International studies affiliated middle school,Xi’an University of Electronic Science and technology affiliated middle school and Zun De Middle School.In this study,62 teachers from five middle schools in Xi’an are taken as the research subjects,and the theories of learning organization and group dynamics are taken as the theoretical basis.The author mainly uses two research methods: questionnaire and interview.This thesis makes an investigation of the current situation of junior middle school English teacher learning community,teachers’ attitude towards it and the factors influencing its development.In addition,the study is supplemented by face-to-face interviews with 12 English teachers.The purpose of collecting interview data is to study the following three questions:(1)What is the current situation of junior middle school English teacher learning community?(2)What attitudes do English teachers have towards the learning community?(3)What are the main factors influencing the development of learning community ?The results of this study show that the common embodiment of junior high school English teachers is satisfactory to some extent.Most teachers hold a positive attitude towards learning community.However,there are still many factors that influence the development of junior high school English teachers’ learning community,such as unreasonable time arrangement,insufficient network resources,and imperfect evaluation mechanism.On this basis,this thesis puts forward some practical suggestions for schools,leaders and English teachers in order to promote the development of English teacher learning community. |
