Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5 record 337 bamboo slips.The chief and the secondary content is the order and law of Qin Dynasty,respectively.It is another literature collection about the law and order of Qin Dynasty after the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.4.To reveal the language feature of Qin Dynasty and guide the researches of Chinese vocabulary history,the authors employed the quantitativ e analysis method to conduct a holistic approach about the vocabulary in the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5.The structures of this thesis are shown as follows:The first part of this thesis includes the introduction,which presents the study object and the relevant research progresses of the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5.Furthermore,the research significance and the research method are also illuminated.The second part of this thesis is the investigation of the monosyllabic words in the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5,including the recognition of words of the slips and collection of the monosyllabic words in the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5.Firstly,based on the part-of-speech,the monosyllabic words can be classified as noun,verb,adjective,adverb,preposition,pronoun,numeral,quantifier,conjunction,auxiliary work and modal particle.Then the sememe of monosyllabic words would be analyzed and summarized to reveal the developments of Qin Dynasty’s monosyllabic words reflected by the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5.Then the new words and new meaning of the monosyllabic words would be gathered,and the features of the monosyllabic words is the completion of parts of speech,and the notional words are dominant.In addition,there are double words for monosyllabic words,and the words are multimeaning;There are words in shortened form for the structure.And for the word form,there exists interchangeability characters and peculiar characters.The third part is the investigations of polysyllabic words in the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5.On the basis of part-of-speech,the polysyllabic words can be classified into noun,verb,adjective,adverb,pronoun,numeral and conjunction.According to the different describe objects,the noun can be divided into names,things noun,place noun,time noun and abstract noun.The verb can be classified into acti on verb,manner verb,sensory verb and state verb.Whereas the adjective can be segmented into score,ordinal,approximate number.Besides the classification of the characteristic or property of a certain word,this manuscript also investigates the structu re type of the polysyllabic words.The compound method includes the coordinate pattern,modifying disyllabic pattern,verb-object pattern,supplementary instruction pattern,subject-predicate pattern and addition pattern.It can be known from the Qin Bambo o Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5 that the quantity of polysyllabic words is much less than the monosyllabic words.Most of these polysyllabic words are objects,and the polysyllabic empty words is pretty few.All of the polysyllabic words are compound words.Most of them are single-meaning.And the homograph and abbreviations are included.The fourth part is the value of Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5 for the annotation of the words.Replenishing the Great Chinese Dictionary and Chinese dictionary in terms of the entry,meaning and documentary.The fifth part is the emendation of the sentences in the Qin Bamboo Slips Collected by Yuelu Academy Vol.5.Discussing the doubtful words(such as the“Yong Shi”,“Weiweibushan”,“Zhong Xian” and the doubtful sentences(such as the “Qianshoubutianzuoshifan,churubushi” of slip 196 and “Weizhaweifu” of slip309 etc.)and proposing the new viewpoints of the author.
