| The stroop effect is an important topic in the field of modern cognitive psychology. For a long time, the study of stroop effect has been mostly on the level of perception. On the basis of the research at home and abroad, this study combines the stroop effect with memory to create a new experimental paradigm.Through the influence of the stroop effect on memory effect,we comprehensively explore the characterization, influencing factors and mechanism of the stroop effect, and bring some inspiration to the study of memory. The experimental results show that the stroop effect will affect the recognition effect under certain conditions, but under different paradigms, the effects on real memory and false memory are not the same. The study included 3 experiments.Experiment 1 explored the effect of classical stroop effect on memory, presenting a series of words with high/low/baseline color consistency respectively. In recognition stage, the subjects were asked to judge whether they had learned the relevant words. The results show that the classical stroop effect has a significant effect on false alarm rate of recognition task, and the false alarm rate decreases with the increase of color word consistency, but has no significant effect on hit rate.Experiment 2 explored the effect of reverse stroop effect on memory, showing high/low/baseline consistency of color words respectively. In recognition stage, the subjects were asked to judge whether they had learned or not.The results showed that the reverse stroop effect had significant effects on the hit rate and false alarm rate. The false alarm rate decreased with the increase of color word consistency, and the hit rate of baseline group was significantly higher than that of experimental group.Experiment 3 explored the effect of color-stroop effect on memory.A series of images with high/low/baseline color word consistency were presented. In recognition stage, the subjects were asked to judge whether they had learned the related pictures. The results show that the classical stroop effect has a significant effect on the false alarm rate of recognition task, and the false alarm rate decreases with the increase of color word consistency, but has no significant effect on the hit rate.According to our findings and previous findings and a variety of existing theoretical models,we believe that the experimental results basically support the automated/relative processing theory of stroop effect and the activation hypothesis of false memory. |
