The Study On The Motivation Of The Object Nouns Of Three-syllable

The object nouns of three-syllable are an important part of the three-syllable words,which are closely related to our lives,a mirror of social culture and scientific development,and an important tool for humans to understand objective things and conduct social communication.The paper takes the three-syllable nouns included the Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)and in the Common Words List of Modern Chinese(Draft)as the research objects.Based on the theory of motivation,the motivation meta-analysis method of motivation is introduced to performed the division and analysis the motivation elements of the 1978 items object nouns of three-syllable,revealing the distribution law and characteristics of the motivation of the object nouns of three-syllable,and at the same time compares the distribution law of motivation elements of different types of the object nouns of three-syllable.Finally,the paper compares and analyzes the motivation elements of different object nouns of three-syllable and disyllabic nouns.The paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter Ⅰ,Introduction.It introduces the reason for choosing the topic of the thesis,sorts out the research status of the motivation,and clarifies the research object,corpus source,research goal,research significance and research method of this article.Chapter Ⅱ,The relevant theories of motivation research.Combining with the previous researches on the motivation,this chapter discusses the relationship between the motivation and arbitrariness of the language,the concepts related to motivation of words,the definition and classification of motivation,and the method of motivation meta-analysis.Chapter Ⅲ,Motivation meta-analysis of the 0bject nouns of three-syllable nouns.Motivation elements of three-syllable nouns are divided into in-word motivation elements and extra-lexical motivation elements.In-word motivation elements include generic element,phonetic element,shape element,color element,time element,space element,nature element,constituent element,function element and implementation element,the extra-lexical motivation elements are mainly cultural element.It analyzes the types of the motivation elements of the three-syllable nouns,and reveals the laws of the motivation elements of the three syllable nouns distribution: the internal motivation elements are the main motivation element.In the internal motivation element,the function element is the main motivation element.It summarizes the four characteristics of the motivation of the three-syllable nouns: multi-source,dual combination,explicitness and implicitness,and national culture.Chapter Ⅳ,A comparative study on the motivation of the animal and plant three-syllable nouns and the artificial three-syllable nouns.It compares the distribution of motivation elements of animal and plant three-syllable nouns and artificial three-syllable nouns,and summarizes the difference of motivation elements distribution of two different kinds of the three-syllable nouns: shape element is the main motivation element of animal and plant three-syllable nouns,while function element is the main motivation element of artificial three-syllable nouns.Chapter Ⅴ,A comparative analysis of the three-syllable nouns and disyllabic nouns.It compares the motivation elements of the three-syllable nouns and disyllabic nouns which they are different forms and the same object.Through the comparison,concluding that the motivation elements of the three-syllable nouns are more specific,vivid and rich than that of the disyllabic nouns,and the three-syllable nouns motivation is more obvious.Chapter Ⅵ,Conclusion.The research results are summarized,and the shortcomings are pointed out.
