| Flipped classroom emerges at the right moment with the vigorous development of information technology.It follows the trend of educational development and breaks the traditional teaching mode.After reading a large number of references,the author found that flipped classroom has a significant effect in such aspects as students’ English reading grades,their interests in learning English and their autonomous learning abilities.English reading teaching is an important window to understand and learn foreign culture,it is also a way to know the national history,geography,traditional customs,life style and literature and art.The use of flipping the classroom in English reading teaching will be an important means to improve students’ English reading ability.Aiming at the application of flipped classroom in English reading teaching in junior middle school,an empirical research was conducted to answer whether flipped classroom can improve students’ reading performance.According to the classic flipped classroom teaching model at home and abroad,this paper innovatively proposes the “VMSR” flipped classroom teaching form for junior middle school English reading,and applies the teaching form to the teaching of experimental class.Through the statistics and analysis of English reading test scores and questionnaire survey data,it is found that the post-test score of the experimental class are significantly better than the pre-test scores,and it is also significantly better than the post-test score of the control class.Students’ reading skills and autonomous learning ability have been greatly improved.Through two questionnaires before and after the experiment,it is found that compared with the traditional English classroom model,students are more satisfied with the flipped classroom teaching model,and there is a significant positive change in their learning attitude and autonomous learning ability.That verifies the rationality and feasibility of the “VMSR” flipped classroom teaching form.At last,the author introspects and summarizes the implementation of the experiment.Through the practical teaching experience and the analysis of the characteristics and limitations of the flipped classroom teaching mode,the teaching enlightenment is summarized in three aspects: teacher teaching,student learning and parent supervision.The teacher aspect mainly includes: the content of the pre-class learning video should be highly relevant to the content of the textbook,and have certain extensibility to enrich students’ cognition;The activities in class should be diversified to meet the needs of all kinds of students and enhance their sense of participation;Study groups should be set up thoughtfully and all students are encouraged to speak.Students should pay attention to the high quality of the pre-class learning tasks,which is the basis of the subsequent teaching;When discussing in class,students should focus on the study problem and think about it.Parents should shoulder the responsibility of supervising students to prevent students from viewing irrelevant information while watching instructional videos,and to help students to collect,enrich and expand learning resources.In addition,there are some shortcomings in this paper.The author hopes that this paper can guide the educators to make prudent and comprehensive thinking when they understand and use the flipped classroom teaching mode,so as to enrich and improve the theory and practice of the flipped classroom. |
