"Mechanical Charm" Series Watercolor Emotional Expression

Watercolor painting was introduced into China from the west in the late qing dynasty.Although it is an imported art,it is favored by Chinese painters because of its similarities with Chinese painting in painting materials and artistic effects.Since the 1980 s,with the development of The Times and the prosperity of the art market,Chinese watercolor paintings have shown a diversified development trend in subjects,techniques and artistic styles.Watercolor exhibitions of various forms and scales have been he ld continuously,ushering in the prosperous development stage of Chinese watercolor paintings.In contemporary Chinese watercolor paintings,many artists choose industrial or mechanical themes to create watercolor paintings,so as to express their admiration for the socialist construction,as well as the good memories of the past industrial era,and many excellent works emerge.In the graduate study of watercolor painting,the author gradually developed a strong interest in the subject of machinery,so he decided to use industrial and agricultural machinery as the creation material to create a series of watercolor paintings of "mechanical legacy".In the process of creation practice,the author learns from the mechanical subject creation of contemporary wate rcolor painters,then practices various techniques according to his own painting feelings,and tries different picture atmospheres,so as to achieve personal creation emotional expression.This paper is the author "mechanical life" series of watercolor painting creation,a summary and review of contemporary mechanical painting development and watercolor painter famous mechanical themes in works of analysis and reference,and combining with the creative practice of personal,step by step to summarize the achievement and shortage in the process of the,motivate yourself to be diligent endeavor,strive to achieve in the ideal pursuit of art on the road.Thesis mainly divided into four chapters: the first chapter is mainly about the contemporary era of mechanical painting theme development characteristics,the types of themes,artistic style,in addition to the contemporary western watercolor painter David parsons and the representative of the Chinese watercolor painters Yang Ye,Liao Jianhua,Dong Xichun works on detailed analysis of the last sum up these artists of my personal "mechanical life" series of watercolor painting creation.The second chapter focuses on the author’s mechanical theme creation inspiration,and in the early stage of the creation of a variety of mechanical theme performance techniques to try,through several stages of exercises,the author’s formal creation to make full preparation.The third chapter is an overall description of the creation process of the series of watercolor paintings named "mechanical charm",which is divided into several aspects such as creation conception,technique application,artistic style and emotional expression.In the process of creation,the author focuses on the expression of water charm,light color and texture,so that the picture can fully express the author’s yearning for the mechanical spirit and mechanical power,as well as the emotional memory of the past.The fourth chapter belongs to the creation of sentiment,mainly contains the creation of emotional expression and creation of experience.
