A Report On Consecutive Interpretation For The Cooperation Conference Of Shandong Zhiwei Internet Science And Technology Industrial Park

This practice report is based on the consecutive interpretation at Shandong Zhiwei Internet Science and Technology Industrial Park’s cooperation conference which involves this company and two US companies’ reports and their further discussions on future cooperation.Under the guidance of the Interpretive Theory,the author overcomes difficulties and adopts corresponding interpretation strategies to accomplish this interpretation task.This practice report is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the task description.It gives a brief introduction to the task background and task requirements.The second chapter gives a description of the interpretation process,including pre-interpretation,during-interpretation and post-interpretation.The third chapter focuses on the guiding theory,in which the author gives an overview of the Interpretive Theory.Then,this chapter introduces the stages of comprehension,deverbalization and re-expression in the process of interpretation.The fourth chapter illustrates the application of the Interpretive Theory in the author’s interpretation practice.It analyses how interpretation is influenced by linguistic knowledge and extra-linguistic knowledge from the perspective of comprehension.Then,this chapter illustrates some adopted strategies dealing with numbers and long and difficult sentences in the stage of deverbalization.Finally,the chapter shows some applied interpretation strategies in coping with redundancies,illogical sentences and non-subject sentences at re-expression level.The last chapter concludes the significance of the Interpretive Theory and its guiding role in the author’s interpretation practice.Moreover,this chapter summarizes the gains and losses of the author’s interpretation practice to improve herself in the future interpretation practice.
