Filial piety usually means good parents. In the western zhou dynasty, the concept of filial piety was widely spread in the society. At that time, the connotation of filial piety was to worship ancestors. In the spring and autumn period, the inherent meaning of filial piety changed and began to show filial piety to parents.During the spring and autumn period, the feudal rulers broke up,the rites broke up and the music broke up.After learning the rites and music system of the western zhou dynasty,Confucius expressed his personal views and established the theory of "benevolence".It’s an emotion based on blood.Confucius’ s concept of filial piety is influenced by many aspects. At the same time, the extension of filial piety is also expanding, and the concept of filial piety permeates into politics, economy and culture. In the han dynasty, loyalty can be interpreted with the concept of filial piety, that is,loyalty and filial piety.Although the concept of filial piety appeared in law before the han dynasty,it was not comprehensive.Qin dynasty already exists about the unfilial crime law,the qin dynasty is legalist theory as the guidance idea, after is harsh punishment,in contrast to the Confucian emphasis on moral education concept, does not care about the impact of moral, unfilial crime is a kind of simple punishment,is the punishment for unfilial behaviour, qin rulers just to rule the people with severe criminal law, discipline people attempted to constraints and rules by law,in order to achieve the goal of governance. The guidance of the concept of filial piety to the guidance of education and influence function is ignored, without moral theory to limit the people,so that they not only respect their parents, but also to be loyal to the Lord. Therefore, although the treatment of unfilial behavior had appeared before the han dynasty,it was only one-sided development of filial law. There are three reasons for the legalization of filial piety in the han dynasty. The second is the influence of the patriarchal system with blood relationship as the bond, which restricts the development of the relationship between the people and the monarch from the relationship within the family. The loyalty of the people to the king is equal to the filial piety of the children to their parents.Third, the transformation of the guiding ideology of governance in han dynasty. At the beginning of the han dynasty, the theory of huang-lao was respected. When emperor wudi of the han dynasty, dong zhong-shu’s neo-confucianism was more in line with the requirements of social development,so he took neo-confucianism as the guiding ideology. At this time, the han dynasty inherited the qin system, and legalism had a great influence on the han dynasty. The rulers of the han dynasty analyzed the reasons for the decline and fall of the qin dynasty and learned lessons from them, thus improving the situation of severe laws and severe punishments. The connotation of the legalization of filial piety in the han dynasty roughly includes the provisions of the crime of unfilial, the implementation of the state policy of old-age care and the relevant legal provisions to encourage filial behavior. The development of filial piety in han dynasty had a corresponding influence on that time and later generations.First, filial piety prevails and the family structure is stable.Second, consolidate absolute monarchy and centralized power. Finally, lay a solid foundation for the filial piety of future generations. However,it also made filial piety appear unhealthy in the han dynasty, with the popularity of revenge and the prevalence of bad habits such as lavish burial, which did not bring positive impact on the society.
