As China’s economic strength increases and its international status improves, more and more international students come to China to learn Chinese. It is particularly important for international students to communicate in spoken Chinese. In the classroom, there exists the problem of insufficient learning and practicing time, which results in students’ inadequate language output. Therefore,a new teaching mode – flipped classroom teaching mode has spread rapidly in China.Flipped classroom is mainly a teaching mode formed by students’ autonomous learning before class with the support of modern technology, their active participating in the interactive activities with the teacher in class, and finally completing the internalization and consolidation of knowledge. This research was conducted in Hebei Wuqiao Acrobatic Art School among 30 students using questionnaire investigation, test, and classroom observation to collect datain order to answer the following three questions: when flip classroom teaching model is implemented in the classroom of elementary spoken Chinese as a foreign language, can it improve student’ spoken language output in frequency, accuracy and word count? The results showed that flipped classroom model can improve students’ performance in the above three aspects. This study has reference significance for future oral Chinese teaching.
