| Different from general Chinese writing,academic Chinese writing requires mastering some professional vocabulary.The main goal of general Chinese teaching is to help learners acquire the ability to communicate in Chinese.There is no guarantee that learners can get enough academic vocabulary and language expressions after studying General Chinese courses.Therefore,students will inevitably face language barriers when studying professional courses and writing academic texts such as graduation thesis.Based on different types of academic text corpora,The "General Academic Chinese Vocabulary List" created in this paper can be used by students of different majors in academic learning,rese arch,and communication.Creating the "General Academic Chinese Vocabulary List" experienced three operational phases.Phase1: Collected textbooks and dissertations of master and doctor from four different disciplines of humanities,science,engineering,economics,and law as corpora for research;Phase2: Used software clean up text,segment words,and calculate word’s frequency of the corpora;Phase3: Estab lished the criteria used for selecting general academic vocabulary from the word frequency table,and created a "General Academic Chinese Vocabulary List".After completing the establishment of the "General Academic Chinese Vocabulary List",the author compared it with "HSK Vocabulary Level Outline",found the distribution characteristics of general academic Chinese words in "HSK Vocabulary Level Outline",combined with the current teaching status of academic Chinese curriculum,put forward the teaching strategy and the application suggestions of "General Academic Chinese Vocabulary List".It is hoped that the "General Academic Chinese Vocabulary List" established by this paper can reveal the characteristics of academic Chinese vocabulary and provide a certain reference for teaching and research in the field of academic Chinese. |
