In the cross-media narration,the integration of one media and another media in the same text usually contributes to a special kind of narrative tension,and Cinematic Narrative Elements in the narration of the novels will produce a unique cognitive effect and artistic effect.Under the catalysis of visual culture,the relationship between literary and film is closer.The film centered on image language integrates many novel writing skills,while the novel centered on text symbols and language adds more visual language and cinematic Elements.That means more and more novelists with cinematic visualization prefer to write novels in a visualized.Paul Auster with cinematic visualization is a famous contemporary American novelist.Cinematic Narrative Elements are often seen in the narration of Paul Auster,and he always tries to break the boundary between the novel and the film,add the cinematic elements to the novel,and elaborate the film plot,film theory and the film’s healing function in the novel text;In his films,he practiced the film theory mentioned in the novel.Auster is the writer who use visual techniques in his novels.As a screenwriter and film director,Auster obviously knows how to apply the cinematic Elements to novels to make his novels unique.It is of great significance to add cinematic Elements to the novel’s narrative techniques,styles,characterization and themes.This thesis takes Paul Auster’ The Book of illusion as the research objects.From Through the analysis of narrative perspective,narrative language and narrative structure,discusses Cinematic Narrative Elements of the novel.This thesis is divided into three parts: introduction,body part and conclusion.The introduction mainly introduces Auster’s profile and his film creation concept,as well as the research status and ideas of this paper.The body parts is divided into three chapters: The first chapter clarifies what is the cinematic narrative perspective,and combines with the text to analyze the performance of the novel’s "frame" consciousness,and then discusses the significance of the cinematic perspective in the realization of the text from "who is reading" to "who is watching".The second chapter,based on the narrative language of The Book of illusion,expounds the reference of The Book of illusion to the camera shot,the visual narration of light,shadow and color,and the text expression and significance of the film scene conversion.The third chapter,based on the narrative structure,analyzes reference to montage of The Book of illusion.The conclusion part discusses the aesthetic connotation and writing significance of the cinematic narrative element in the novel,that is,the cinematic narrative element of Auster is not only a borrowing of another media representation technique and transfer,which is different from the way of thinking and meaning generation of paper narrative media,may even provide a new interpretation space.
