Silent means quietness of natural environment, and it can also mean a calm mental state of human. The synonym words of silent include peacefulness, quietness, solitude and so on.Meditation is an important means for the East people to seek religious “god” and the highest spirit of philosophy.Silence theme constitutes an important part of culture in typical East countries like India,China, and Japan,it is also an important part of East culture. The first part of this article analyzes the question why silence was considered an Eastern traditional culture. Some East countries have a tradition of advocating silence for a long time, which is mainly manifested in the following aspects : firstly,Silence is a manifestation of transcending the spirit.Silence is considered to be an important feature that can achieve the ultimate experience of spiritual practice or the highest spirit.Traditional eastern religions such as Hinduism,Buddhism,Zen,and Taoism have such a tradition of advocating silence. They all think that silence is an important characteristic of the ultimate spirit or god,and that when the state of silence is reached, the connection between the individual and the highest spirit will be created.Secondly, silence is an aesthetic experience.Silence become the standard for art and life. For example,in the Indian drama theory "On Dance",silence is considered to be one of the "flavors" of judging drama.Aesthetics regard “silence” as beauty.Thirdly,Silence is a literary theme.Various countries writers in the East wrote the mood of silence, peaceful lifestyle, and the pursuit of life in a solitary and quiet way in their literary works.Silence become an important literature theme. Therefore, the views of nature and philosophy contained in silence constitute a unique feature of oriental tradition. The second part of this article begins with the question "How do Indian classical Sanskrit poems,Chinese Tang poetry, and Japanese classical haiku present the theme of silence?".This part of the content is based on the methods of selecting typical examples, classifying and demonstrating, and then summarizing the common points of extracts. In India, the period of classical Indian Sanskrit literature is an important period.Unlike the "big poems",which are mainly epics,"small poems" refer to lyric poems, which include philosophical poems, amorous poems, and landscape poems. This part summarizes the silence presented in three types of poetry and analyzes how it presents silence from the aspects of literary imagery, writing techniques, and emotional sustenance. Finally,it extracts the most important characteristics of these poems when they express silence. It is concluded that the theme of silence presented in Indian Sanskrit poems has characteristics similar to "origin","liberation" and "holiness".The Tang Dynasty is an era when Chinese poetry shines brilliantly. The combination of Buddhism and locality gave birth to Zen.Influenced by religion, the theme of "silent" in Zen poetry can be seen everywhere."Ideological Zen poetry" starts with the silence expressed in the three types of poetry, interprets the imagery, mood, and expression techniques to analyze how Zen poetry presents a sense of silence, and finally analyzes the key to Zen poetry in describing silence Words: "pleasant","easy and "mindfulness".Haiku is the classical short poems in Japan.Classical haikus are influenced by Zen.Most of them have the meaning of "Zen".Haiku are connected with the traditional Japanese aesthetics such as " WABI,SABI " and "Yuan Xuan"."Silent" is also a key word of Haiku.According to the theme of writing, this article divides the collected Japanese classical haiku into " natural haiku",which focuses on describing natural things."living styles haiku",which focuses on showing daily life, and "" "Philosophy of philosophical thinking" also analyzes how silence is presented in Japanese classical haiku from the aspects of imagery, artistic conception, and literary expression methods. Finally,it summarizes the keywords "philosophical thinking","essence",and "universe" in Japanese haiku. The key words of silence in different regions and literature are different, but they also share similarities. This article summarizes the similarities as "empty","silence",and "happiness." "Empty" means "nothing." It is an overall depiction of the essence of all things. The "empty" depiction in the above three poems generally presents a gesture of conversion, and "empty" is an oriental view of the universe;"Silence" i means quietness."Silence" emphasizes a state of mind,a state in which an individual is intoxicated with the exploration of the essence of the world.A known means of practice;"happiness" is a realm, the ultimate realm pursued by silence. The joy of silence means a freedom of the soul. The pursuit of“happiness”constitutes characteristics oriental literary teleology.Afterwards, this article extends the theme of silence from the East to other regions, using the keywords of "nature","quietness" and "eternity" to further discuss the theme of silence as a concept and a spiritual archetype.Think about the theme of silence, explore the significance of silence to individuals, and explore why silence is frequently reflected in literary creation.Regarding the issue of silence as a concept, this article starts from the definition of the concept, and considers the concept as an expression of self-cognitive consciousness.Conceptual thinking inertia reflects a collective subconsciousness, combined with the Chinese and foreign "silence" tradition and the previous results, having such a conclusion: the concept of silence emphasizes that people should be separated from the chaotic and noisy world and return to silence. In other words,in these pursuits of silence, the emphasis is on returning to nature--that is,from phenomena of the self who to the pure and peaceful soul of nature.Regarding the issue of silence as a spiritual archetype,I refer to Professor Ding Laixian’s concept of "belief-poetic".Professor Ding Laixian mentioned the concept "spiritual archetype" in his book "Poetry of Faith and the Return of Existence" and considers silence to be one of the characteristics of spiritual archetypes. He proposed that the spiritual archetype has a great purpose. This purpose is contained in the hidden tendency of human existence as a whole, and it seems to be hidden in the depth of human existence. This article uses real examples in the field of literature and art combined with the previous research to conclude that silence is a way for individuals to continuously approach and find spiritual prototypes.Silence,as a spiritual archetype, reflects its metaphysical role and various meditations such as yoga, which is a typical example. The silence expressed in literature is the inner pursuit of spiritual things in the subconscious, which is a spiritual archetype. This can also explain the essence of the writer’s desire to "quietness" in literature creation. The pursuit of silence is actually an individual’s pursuit of entering a truly valuable deep experience.
