Study On Information Visualization In User Manual For Children’s Educational Toys

In the new era of designing for children,according the aspect of the information visualization design,the paper illustrates the forms of expression in children’s toy instruction manuals.Studying from children’s cognitive abilities and characteristics,it is defining the inner relationship between information visualization and user manuals.And analyzing the degrees of visualization,the manifestations and summarizing the info graphic design process and methods in order to meet users’ needs.Next,according to the application of information visualization design in product manuals,I understand that the product manuals as carriers of information can help consumers become familiar with products and avoid wrong operations.In the meanwhile,children are the special audience,designers should consider how to use simple and understandable expressions to attract children and help them access the information effectively.First,the paper analyzes the status quo of information visualization in user manuals for children’s educational toys in China and abroad.Then it points out the trends,main contents and methods of infographic design now.More specifically,this paper provides some introductions to the field of children’s educational toys,instruction books and the significance of infographic design.The information visualization in instruction books are intended to increase the attraction of toys for children and the brand awareness for corporation,level up users’ confidence in products,and improve the customer service.Secondly,the paper summarizes and discusses the result of the top ten toys’ brands,including the design methods,design features and visual expressions.However,despite the successful development of the top ten brand,there are still many open research questions that require the users’ experiences in order to explore and establish concepts of children’s cognitive system,and to perform experiments and take measurements.Finally,taking the actual brand as an example and analyzing the design elements of fonts,colors,graphics,and information icons.In this study,I used the double diamond design process and the process of infographic design to redesign the user manual of "Kong Ming Suo".I found that using the actual case to solve the problems in the instruction book through the infographic design is successful.Designers should realize the efficient and error-free communication of information to users and provide references for published methods and practices.
