With the increasing popularity of the Internet and mobile learning media, the development of foreign language education is facing a new transition from traditional learning to ubiquitous learning. As a new learning method, ubiquitous learners can make full use of intelligent terminal equipment to carry out free and autonomous learning in a timely manner in accordance with their own needs. However, ubiquitous learning is different from traditional English classrooms.Without teachers’ direct guidance, students learn independently, and good learning strategies are needed to obtain better learning results.Junior high school students are at the golden stage of English learning, and many learning habits and thinking habits are formed during this period. Then, their current English ubiquitous learning status, learning strategy application, and how well the results are all worth attention. Therefore, the study focuses on the application of strategies in ubiquitous English learning, and proposes two research questions:1.What about the application of learning strategies for junior high school students in ubiquitous learning?2.Are there any differences in the application of learning strategies among junior high school students of different genders, grades and English achievement levels in English ubiquitous learning? After collating and analyzing related research at home and abroad, based on the characteristics of ubiquitous learning and Oxford’s language learning strategy classification system, the research was conducted by using questionnaires and interviews.A total of 240 junior high school students from Z School participated in the questionnaire survey and nine interviewed students further expressed their obstacle in ubiquitous English learning. The results of questionnaires show that the six branches of Oxford’s language learning strategy are all involved in the English ubiquitous learning among junior high school students, but the overall situation of strategy application is only at a medium level, and compensation strategies and memory strategies are applied more frequently, while the social strategies is applied least frequently.Different gender groups have significant differences in the use of emotional strategies, but there is no great difference in other strategies, but the differences in the use of strategies between different grades and English grades of junior high school students are complicated. The interview also reflect that junior high school students are facing some problems in their English ubiquitous learning, learning strategies are not well understood and their ability to apply strategies is lacking. This study analyzes the relevant reasons for the results and makes three suggestions: firstly,to perfect the role of teachers, enhance the strength of strategy application;secondly,to improve the learning environment, promote the awareness of strategy application;finally,to play the main body role, enhance the ability to apply strategies, which in order to help junior high school students better understand English ubiquitous learning,to arouse teachers’ attention to the guidance of English learning strategies for junior high school students, and to improve their autonomous learning ability in English ubiquitous learning,so as to integrate and apply learning strategies more reasonably and flexibly to obtain more abundant and effective English ubiquitous learning results.
