| Economic globalization is sweeping over the world,which has great impacts on diversified fields such as politics and culture.For one thing,it benefits the world immensely.For another thing,financial crisis intensifies economic imbalance of the world.Consequently,it is essential to have a wide knowledge of economic globalization for the future development of the world.The translation task is excerpted from the book entitled Crashed:How a Decade of Financial Crises Changed the World written by Adam Tooze and published in 2018.Tooze elucidates the influences of the crisis originating in the United States on world economy and politics from a global perspective,which arouses great reflection and inspiration.Featured by large amounts of information and strong practicability,the source text is counted as an informative text.The communicative translation theory put forward by Peter Newmark,a British translation theorist,aims to make the target readers have the same responses as the source readers,and exerts the guiding significance on the source text.This report is divided into four parts.The first part is a brief description of the project,including the introduction to the source text,the features of the source text and the significance of the task.The second part mainly presents the process description,involving the preparations before translation,the duration of the task and quality control.The third part analyzes the translation of specific examples under the guidance of communicative translation theory in detail,which centers on the translation skills of addition,negation,division and conversion.The last part summarizes the experience and lessons based on the process of translation,including translation reflection and unsolved problems.This translation practice enables Chinese readers to have a better understanding of 2008 financial crisis and other translators to further grasp the informative text and communicative translation theory.It can also provide reference for the translation of informative texts. |
