| Nowadays,countries have higher demands on talents with the intensification of talent competition,which is fundamentally education competition.Colleges and universities,as the main place for talent supply,should constantly reform themselves to adapt to the fierce talent competition.Many new ideas are emerging in the reform of higher education abroad,which can provide reference for China’s education reform.Therefore,it is important to introduce relevant ideas abroad into China.This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of Chapters 9 and 11,Reconfiguring Knowledge in Higher Education,a book published in 2018.By analyzing the translation process,the report focuses on four aspects:the features of the text and the significance of the task;the quality through preparations and procedure management;typical cases analysis by using repetition,division and reversion under the guidance of Newmark’s Text Typology Theory;and a summary of E-C translation of Reconfiguring Knowledge in Higher Education and the translator’s inspiration after the translation.As the report tells,informative text aims to convey what the original text intends to express,that is,with a comprehensive understanding of the features of the original text,the translator must transmit the information accurately in the final version by appropriate translation techniques under the guidance of Newmark’s Text Typology Theory. |
