Research On The Modernity Of Yan’an Literary And Art

Yan’ an Literature and Art took place in a special era.At that time,all the old things in China had not been completely broken,and the new forces had not been fully developed.It is in such a painful process of modernization that the Communist Party of China(CPC)has actively explored modernization in culture in order to consolidate and develop the proletarian regime and lead the Chinese people to complete the revolutionary task of anti imperialism and anti feudalism.This paper attempts to interpret some phenomena about Yan’an Literature and Art from the perspective of.modernity,and explore the characteristics and value of Yan’ an Literature and Art modernity in the process.Although modernity originated in the west,with the exploration of modern Chinese intellectuals on the road of China’ s modernization,modernity,as the core concept of building a modern nation-state,has taken root and sprouted in the ancient East.In the process of Western political and economic development,modernity shows a series of irreconcilable contradictions,including the currency’ s alienation rule over human beings,which leads to the paradox of modernity in politics,culture and society.After a thorough analysis of the root causes of the contradiction,Marxism puts forward a new way to realize the ideal of modernity,that is,to overthrow the bourgeois rule through the proletarian revolution,establish a communist society,and realize the real liberation of mankind.After witnessing the practice of Marxism in the Soviet Union,the Chinese Communists and intel l ectuals under their leadership gradual ly recognized the real cause of the difficulties of modernity in China in the early 20th century.Combined with the actual situation of Chinese revolution,they opened the way of exploring the Sinicization of Marxism,and took the Sinicized Marxim as the development basis of Chi nese modernity.When the legitimate political power of the Communist Party of China was established in Yan’ an,a series of modernity construction work was launched,and literature and art became an important work field to establish ideological and cultural modernity.The intellectuals engaged in literary and art work in Yan’an include not only the enlighteners of the May 4th movement from the Kuomintang control led areas and enemy occupied areas,but also the new revolutionary literary and artistic talents trained by Lu Yi.After the honeymoon in Yan’an,the former disagreed with Party Intellectuals on the connotation and Realization of modernity ideal.Although both sides regard people’s independence,freedom and equality as the pursuit of ideal values,Party Intellectuals and new revolutionary writers and artists emphasize that the independence,freedom and equality of the collective and even the nation should be realized first in the revolutionary war when the nation is in danger.Therefore,the conflict between individual enlightenment discourse and revolutionary discourse appears in the writing of modernity.However,this kind of conflict was short-lived.Until the Yan’ an Forum on literature and art and the formation of Mao Zedong’s literary thought,the unified revolutionary enlightenment discourse was formally established.At the same time,the value pursuit of Enlightenment was retained,and the special realization form of"revolution" was determined.The pursuit of modernity in Yan’an Literature and Art is not only a theoretical exploration,but also a practical process.Through the re interpretation and examination of the western modernity discourse and the modernity thought of the May 4th movement,Yan’an Literature and Art has finally become a real literary practice in the form of movement and ideological trend.Among them,the most obvious performance is to re-establish and face up to the role and position of intellectuals and ordinary people in literary and artistic creation,and clarify the multiple subjects of Yan’ an Literature and Art.There is no doubt that a series of literary practice activities in Yan’an period provided the soil for the rooting and sprouting of modernity in China,making it reflected and continued in Contemporary Chinese literature.The modernity of Yan’ an Literature and Art mainly affects people’ s spiritual field,which includes both worldly and transcendental.The latter is the realm of ideas,which is people’s perceptual world,and people’s thinking on belief,idea,world and life significance.Modern Chinese intellectuals’pursuit of aesthetics is not simply to emphasize the artistry of literature and art at the technical level,but to fill in the realm of Chinese people’ s ideas.However,due to the lack of modern civil society in China,"replacing religion with aesthetic education"is limited to literati discourse.In order to replace the declining Confucian tradition in the form of political and credit integration,political parties are not only the Bureaucratic stratum of the regime,but also the providers of social ethics and the meaning of life.Party Intellectuals,like Christian priests,transmit Party Ethics to the people,thus establishing a solid and reliable ideological unity.Although the aesthetic artistic attainments are not Yan’ an’s literary and artistic attainments,their pursuit of ideology has filled the Chinese people’ s ideological field with Chinese Marxism.However,in the process of reconstructing the field of ideas,intellectuals,especially those who came to Yan’ an from Kuomintang controlled areas and enemy occupied areas,had stronger ontology inertia.Therefore,under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,through the transformation of the identity of intellectuals,they are fully integrated into the ranks of "workers,peasants and soldiers",thus realizing the unity of ideas.The modernity of Yan’ an Literature and Art,based on the Sinicization of Marxism,presents the characteristics of"revolution and enlightenment" in the era of revolutionary war.In the 13 years of the development of Yan’an Literature and Art,Chinese culture bid farewell to the tradition with unprecedented courage and speed,and embraced modern human civilization with resolute courage.Yan’an Literature and Art,as the main driving force of Chinese cultural change in this era,has answered the grand proposition of "Chinese modernization" with high quality.
