| Li Gang,as a representative figure of the warring sides in Song Dynasty,was upright and patriotic,but he was defamed by people who wanted to negotiate peace and relegated again and again.Eventually,he died in 1140.Li Gang went down in history as a great statesman and militarist.Meanwhile,his literary achievement should not be ignored.His letters,as firsthand information of studying his thinking,mentality and the situation of his intercourse,have irreplaceable documentary value.In the first chapter,the people who Li Gang writed to will be analysed according to the chart.At the same time,this chapter will study the attitudes about peace or war towards Jin empire of Li Gang,Lv Yihao,Zhao Ding,Zhang Jun,Qin Hui,which was quite significant to the situation of the Southern Song Dynasty,and the associations between Li Gang and Wu Min,Xu Han,Li Guang,Han Shizhong,Zong Ze.They made friends when they worked for the government together.They were all potriotic and cherished the same ideals and followed the same path.In the second chapter,this paper analyses Li Gang′ emotions when he was writting letters.First of all,The worries which were embodied in his letters showed his patriotism.Meanwhile,He told his friends about his resent situation,which occupied much of the letters,including giving a sigh about his life and destiny because of being relegated and defamed and felling sick.Finally,the classic works of Confucians and Buddhism were explained in his letters.In the last chapter,the paper will discuss Li Gang’political comments which was embodied in his letters.In his opinion,the difference between Junzi and Xiaoren is that Junzi is potriotic.The future of country and people are bond together.His attitude over how to rule robbers was a reflection of his love for people.Li Gang insisted being loyal to the emperor and loving people,which could explain his political comments about loving his cuontry and people,and showed his personality of integrity as a statesman.The last part will make a conclusion,as well as introducing the artistic features and clarifying the values of Li Gang’ letters and making comments on them. |
