Lu Xun had an indissoluble bond with Buddhism all his life. The purpose of this paper is to study how Buddhism influenced Lu Xun and how Lu Xun adopted the traditional resources of Buddhism in a different way.The concept of "great joy" originally comes from Buddhism. It originally means to achieve self-satisfaction through correct practice after having faith in Buddha and to reach the joy of unity between heaven and man.Lu Xun rewrote its connotation and used it in "Wild Grass".The dominant "great joy" appeared six times in "Wild Grass",and the hidden great joy appeared once. Each one has a different meaning.Through the analysis of these seven "great joy",this paper tries to explore Lu Xun’s survival philosophy and the difference between Lu Xun’s and Buddhism’s survival philosophy through Lu Xun’s creative rewriting of "great joy".The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter analyzes the three levels of "great joy" in "wild grass"."great joy" can be said to be the ultimate pursuit of buddhist practitioners. Before reaching the "great joy",they have various levels of cultivation, which is undoubtedly contained in the meaning of "great joy".The second chapter is to analyze the changes of great joy in "Wild Grass".The seven "great joy"in "Wild Grass" embodies Lu Xun’s deep emotion and profound thinking. This kind of thinking has multiple connotations, such as anger for the mean people, despair for enlightenment, thinking about the future path, and deep digging of my soul. The third chapter is analysis of "wild grass" of Buddhism "happy" paraphrase, after pulling away the buddhist philosophical connotations, retained the connotation of the "happy"part of the philosophy of Buddhism, has become the "by thought right action after reaching detachment and self-gratification get happy of nature and humanity",and has a fundamental difference on some ideas.
