Study On Disasters In Eastern China Around 5-4kaB.P.

Around 5ka B.P.(before present),China’s climate entered a relatively stable warm and humid period,which was conducive to the development of archaeological culture in the eastern region.At this time,the number and scale of sites in Haidai area and the area around Taihu lake increased rapidly,and large central settlements such as Liangzhu site and Liangcheng town site appeared.Around 4.3-4ka BP,with the arrival of the sudden climate change period,Longshan culture in Haidai area and Liangzhu culture around the area of Taihu lake embarked on different development paths.Longshan culture created its peak period and finally turned into Yueshi culture.Liangzhu culture gradually declined and withdrew from the historical stage.The development and decline of these two cultures are related to the drastic fluctuation of climate and the change of man-land relationship.This paper is mainly divided into six parts.The first part introduces the natural environment and the development sequence of archaeological culture in eastern China around 5-4ka B.P..The second part systematically analyzes the types of disasters around 5-4ka B.P.from temporal and spatial distribution and types and other aspects of disasters,paving the way for the following.The eastern part of China is divided into north and south in the third and fourth parts.These two parts respectively analyze the disaster types of Haidai area and the area around Taihu lake,the coping styles to disasters and the influence of disasters on archaeological culture in these two areas.The fifth part compares the coping styles of disasters in Haidai area and the area around Taihu lake,and concludes that the differences in social politics and economic aspects between Haidai area and Taihu Lake area are the social internal causes for the Longshan culture in Haidai area and the Liangzhu culture around the area of Taihu lake to embark on different cultural development paths.The last part summarizes the viewpoints of this paper and points out the shortcomings.
