A Report On Consecutive Interpretation Practice

The report is a summary of the author’s interpretation practice.Under the guidance of"Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation"(CEA)Framework of Translation proposed by Li Changshuan,this report analyzes translation problems the author encountered during the whole interpretation procedure,in the hope of sharing experiences and advice that can be taken as a reference for future interpreters in relevant industries.This report elaborates on the interpretation problems encountered and summarizes solutions by flexibly using translation strategies such as addition,subtraction,and reorganization of sentence structure.In order to comprehend the purpose of the speaker,the interpreter needs to learn more about the background knowledge.In terms of language expression,the speaker’s logic should be clearly sorted and his/her point of view needs to be faithfully expressed by taking content and form both into consideration.Adaptation focuses on achieving dynamic equivalence of language based on the purpose of interpretation.This report is divided into four chapters.The first one is task description,including background information,task introduction and the difficulties encountered in the interpretation practice.Chapter 2 is the description of the practical process,:in which three parts,preparation before interpreting,interpretation process and reflection after interpretation,are included.Chapter 3 contains an introduction to the analytical framework of ’"Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation",as well as how the framework is illustrated during the interpretation process.Chapter 4 is the case analysis based on the framework,in which lexical and syntactic analysis is included.
