A Report On The C-E Translation Of Campus News Lead Based On The Model For Comparing Parallel Texts

More and more Chinese news agencies,including university news agencies,are building their English news websites as the trend towards globalization has gained greater momentum.For Chinese universities,English news websites serve as a tool for them to show themselves to overseas readers and improve their international popularity.Under the circumstances,it is crucial to improve the translation quality of campus news,the lead in particular,since it is the life of news.This paper attempts to build a model for comparing parallel texts for campus news lead translation and applies it to a comparative study of Chinese and English campus news lead in news element writing.The findings of the study are then used as guidelines for translating Chinese campus news lead into English.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part is a literature review,introducing the research history and current situation of the parallel text comparison model and campus news lead translation.The second part compares and analyzes the characteristics of parallel texts from the perspective of news elements(when,where,who and what)writing.The third part is a translation case study based on the model for comparing parallel texts.In addition,the introduction part introduces the project description,research background,research methods and innovations.The conclusion part includes the findings and shortcomings of the paper.
