Since the beginning of The Belt and Road(B&R)and the maritime Silk Road,the demand for talents in the foreign trade industry has been increasing.This means that the speed and quality of personnel education in our vocational education system should also meet the needs of social development,and we should train professional skilled and applied talents that the society needs.Therefore,many business English majors established in secondary vocational schools undertake the important task of educating business and foreign trade talents.In order to effectively promote the cultivation of high-quality skilled talents in China’s vocational education,China has launched the “1+X” certification system and initiated pilot work since 2019,for providing the society with the required talents and improving the quality of industry.At present,many secondary vocational schools begin to pay attention to the cultivation of students’ professional ability.However,most of them are in the exploring stage,which cause some problems inevitably.Some secondary vocational schools lack of in-depth training of vocational ability and practice,and can not well deal with the promotion of “1+X”certificate system.Therefore,this paper takes the “1+X” certificate system as the research background,takes the current situation of Vocational College Business English professional ability training as the breakthrough point,analyzes the problems existing in the Vocational Business English professional ability training mode,studies the Vocational Business English professional ability training,and provides optimization suggestions for Vocational Business English professional training students’ professional ability.Based on the research literature of vocational ability training at home and abroad,this paper explores the problems and reasons of vocational ability training of Business English major in secondary vocational schools through a variety of research methods.After the previous literature research and actual investigation,through the analysis of the survey results,it is found that there are some problems in the vocational ability training of Business English major in secondary vocational schools,such as unscientific curriculum,teaching does not fit the vocational ability,teachers’ quality does not meet the standard,practical training is not in place,assessment standards are not complete and so on.On the whole,under the background of “1+X” certificate system,Business English major in secondary vocational school is not ideal for the cultivation of students’ professional ability.The main reason is that some secondary vocational schools are insufficient in curriculum and teaching arrangement,teachers and training equipment,professional ability assessment and cognition.In view of these problems and reasons,this paper puts forward the following suggestions to improve the vocational ability training of business English Majors in secondary vocational schools:schools should set up courses according to the professional orientation,determine the teaching content according to the talent demand,build a high-quality teaching team,and make full use of the advantages of school enterprise cooperation to carry out practical training,improve the vocational ability assessment standards and system,We should pay more attention to the vocational ability,so as to improve the vocational ability of Secondary Vocational Business English students and cultivate skilled talents who meet the requirements of “1+X” certificate system.
