Tang Dynasty is the heyday of the development of Chinese classical poetry.Tang poetry,to some extent, represents the great achievement of literature and art in Tang Dynasty, and creates a new era of the development of Chinese poetry. As we all know, there are many famous poets in Tang Dynasty, among which Du Fu is one of the main representatives.Because of his exquisite and vivid art,we can still feel the vitality of Du Fu and his times.Du Fu’s greatness not only lies in his poetry, but also in his lofty thoughts.Du Fu loved the country and the people, opposed the cruel and merciless war,as well as the oppression of the poor people by the rulers. He hoped that the country would be prosperous and the people would be safe and happy. This benevolent theme has always been of practical significance, which can arouse universal social resonance.Even today,it can still make people deeply moved.Based on Professor Xu Yuanchong’s "Three Beauty Theory",this paper aims to analyze Wu Juntao’s English translation of Tu Fu One Hundred and Fifty Poems "Three Beauty Theory" is of great importance in poetry translation."Three Beauties" includes "beauty in meaning","beauty in sound" and "beauty in form".Beauty in meaning means that the translator should convey the content of the original poem faithfully;"beauty in sound" means that the translated text is supposed to keep the same rhythm and rhyme as the original poem,so that readers can sense the same aesthetic effect;"beauty in form" suggests that the translated text should keep the neat form of the original poem as much as possible,so as to form a unified whole. This paper comes to the conclusion that in Wu Juntao’s English translation, the beauty in meaning is mainly reflected in images, allusions and figures of speech.Wu Juntao reproduces the beauty in meaning through literal translation, free translation, reverse translation, footnote, addition, omission and substitution. The beauty in sound is mainly reflected in rhythm, rhyme, onomatopoeia and reduplication.Wu Juntao reproduces the beauty in sound by means of iambic, alliteration and end rhyme, which bring aesthetic feeling to readers. The beauty in form is mainly reflected in the line length and symmetry. The beauty in form is reproduced through the antithesis of part of speech, sentence antithesis, syllable and omission, which bring visual beauty to readers.
