Research On Yu He’s Running Script Style

Yu He was an important figure in the Zhao factions of Calligraphy in the Yuan Dynasty.H e worked hard on the calligraphy of Wei,Jin and Tang dynasties,and was good at the five kinds of calligraphy,namely seal script,official script,regular script,running script and cursive scrip t.He was one of the representative figures in the trend of thought of reopening ancient ways in t he Yuan Dynasty.Yu He’s exquisite running script is very similar to Zhao Mengfu,so the peopl e’s impression of him mostly stays in the perspective of "Almost identical to Wen Min",and ignores the depth of his running script itself.This paper studies Yu He’s style of running script in three chapters.The first chapter explores the reasons for the formation of Yu He’s running calligraphy style by analyzing the background of his times and the teaching of his calligraphy.The second chapter is the key part of this paper,focusing on the analysis of Yu He’s running style characteristics.Starting from the three aspects of the use of pen,the structure and the layout of calligraphy,this paper deeply explores the style of Yu He’s running script,and compares it with the works of Zhao Mengfu and Zhang Yu’s running script to better study the style of Yu He’s running script.The third chapter,through the copying and creation of Yu He’s running script works,summarizes the creation experience,learn the writing characteristics,and applies it to our own calligraphy creation to explore its reference significance for us to learn running script.
