Study On Multi-Modal Metaphor Of Death In Child Death Education Picture Book

This paper takes 25 children’s death education picture books as the research object,picture books belong to the plane layer corpus,mainly includes the image mode and the text modal,with the multi-modal article characteristics.Because children’s picture books have less audience literacy and imperfect logical thinking ability,there are a large number of metaphors in both image patterns and text patterns.Metaphor is a transcendence of rhetorical means that widely exists in the process of people’s thinking and cognition.Based on the multimodal metaphor theory,the construction process of the death meaning space in the death education theme picture book is analyzed,and the characteristics of the multimodal metaphor in the death meaning space are explored.The paper first analyzes the concept of death based on the text mode,classifies and summarizes the concept of death in the picture book,divided into four kinds: "death is parting","death is the result of death","death is some physical characteristic",and "death is the end".The image modal is analyzed and summarized three kinds: "death is parting","death is the result of death" and "death is some physical feature".And analyze the "sad" emotional metaphor and "love" emotional metaphor,so as to analyze the multi-modal construction of the meaning space of death.Secondly,based on the multimodal metaphor of Forceville,build the multimodal integration model of death education picture books,integrate 25 image articles and text articles in the picture book,analyze the construction process of multimodal scene,analyze the detailed interpretation of concrete examples and conclude that "death is a healing wound","death is another journey of life","death is the continuation of emotion" three death significance space.Finally,the analysis of death meaning space multimodal metaphor characterization and characterization characteristics,found that in the death education picture book,the representation of death expression space is divided into "source domain graphic —— target domain" and "source domain image —— target domain image",source metaphor space and target domain presents high consistency,image with text modal,play an auxiliary role,strengthen emotional metaphor color,representation is mainly manifested as "source domain map —— target domain map".Characterization characteristics on the one hand for the warmth of death metaphor,specific for the warmth of the image of death,color symbol warmth and emotional metaphor warmth,on the other hand as the representation symbol routine,present the death expression space and sad emotional space weakening,emotional metaphor space of love,enhance the warmth of death meaning space multimodal scene.
