A high-quality local Chinese textbook is one of main factors for the success of overseas Chinese language teaching,but as we know,the compilation of teaching materials is complicated,time-consuming and laborious process,which makes many local teachers feel more and less capable.In Italy,Chinese teaching has a long history and a huge number of learners.Local Chinese textbooks have long been published and also have a good reputation.The development of the times and technological updates have always been a huge driving force for the upgrading of Chinese teaching materials,in Italy it is also facing the same problem.Therefore,this research focuses on the characteristics present in the Italian Chinese textbooks and explores new ideas for local textbook compilation in the new era.The object of this thesis is "Ⅱ cinese per gli italiani(livello intermedio)",and we study its compilation principles,instructional objectives,text topics,cultural content,and textbook styles.Through the questionnaire surveys of Chinese learners and interviews with local teachers,we collect users’ experiences and opinions about texts,vocabulary,grammar,exercises,culture notions and education resources.Finally,based on the results of the surveys and interviews,we provide suggestions for the compilation of future Italian Chinese textbooks.The "Ⅱ cinese per gli italiani(livello intermedio)" is a series of Chinese textbooks,it consists of three comprehensive volumes,edited by Professor Federico Masini,a well-known Italian Chinese scholar.This textbook had been compiled by Italian and Chinese teachers at the same time,it is outstanding in the comparison of Chinese and Italian cultures.Compared with the "Cinese contemporaneo(livello avanzato,versione italiana)" published by a Chinese publishing house,the former involves few but precise cultural points,joined with local reality,it is suitable textbook for Italian students.In addition,the language of the textbook is natural and fluent,the vocabulary is authentic and practical,it is equipped with mother-tongue notes,grammar explanations and translations,in order to facilitate students’ understanding.In order to ensure the authenticity and integrity of this thesis,a survey was conducted among the users of "Ⅱ cinese per gli italiani(livello intermedio)",which included both students and teachers.The survey was multifaceted and the reason for this was to understand their needs and expectations from different perspectives,and that the dissemination of culture can be done anywhere and at any time.The survey revealed that the textbook is very popular among Chinese language learners and teachers in Italy,the results of the survey then led to different suggestions for its development.
