Chenwei is a social trend of thought that prevailed between the Han and Wei Dynasties. It is not only closely related to political events, but also has a profound impact on the products of Han and Wei literary works. In the two Han Dynasties, with the support of the rulers,Chenwei continued to grow.Although Chenwei was banned in the Wei and Jin Dynasties,it still existed in literary works, bursting with vitality. Some literary works of the two Han Dynasties are obviously influenced by Chenwei in content. The Soushen Ji,as the representative of mystery novel in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, also shows the absorption of Chenwei in content. When analyzing the Chenwei writing in the Soushen Ji,it is combined with Chenwei books, historical books and social background, and mainly divided into four chapters to discuss. The first chapter mainly defines and combs Chenwei.Chen mostly refers to argot, while Wei is a book with scriptures made by Confucians and alchemists in Han Dynasty. In addition, they came into being at different times.Chen came into being earlier, and Wei appeared at the time of the reign of emperors Liu Xi and Liu Ao.The development of Chenwei is inseparable from the theories of Zou Yan,Fu Sheng and Dong Zhongshu.Yin and Yang and the Five Elements, the Interaction between Heaven and Mankind, and the Five Virtues are all important ideological components of Chenwei.During the Wei and Jin Dynasties,Chenwei was banned by the rulers. The literati of this period began to recognize the value of Chenwei “for the article”.The second chapter mainly analyzes Chenwei and the cultural background of the Soushen Ji.During the Han Dynasties, people had a strong sense of disaster, and the rulers believed in Chenwei,so the thought of Chenwei goes into many literary works. The social environment in which Gan Bao lives is even worse.Gan Bao is well versed in the Book of Changes. At the same time,as a historian,Gan Bao is deeply influenced by the Five Elements Annals of the Book of Han.Therefore,it is inevitable for him to use the thoughts of Yin and Yang and the Five Elements as well as the Interaction between Heaven and Mankind to describe social events when writing the Soushen Ji.The third chapter mainly discusses the contents of Chen and Wei in the Soushen Ji.As a carrier of the Chenwei culture, the Soushen Ji reflects the existence state of Chenwei in the Wei and Jin Dynasties.First of all,the Chenwei culture is reflected in“Fu Shi” and “Fu Chen”.At this time, the elixir becomes a kind of good omen.Secondly, the Chenwei culture is reflected in “Gan Sheng”and”Yi Mao”.The myth of the emperor’s being appointed is an important part of Chenwei, which is also shown in the Soushen Ji.Thirdly, the Chenwei culture is also reflected in the resurrection, variation, filial piety stories in the Soushen Ji.These stories are based on Yin and Yang and the Five Elements as well as the Interaction between Heaven and Mankind. The fourth chapter focuses on discussing the benefits of Chenwei on the literary expression of the Soushen Ji.Firstly,Chenwei affects the shaping of literary image in the Soushen Ji.Under its influence,a number of unique characters emerge in the Soushen Ji.Secondly,Chenwei makes the Soushen Ji full of great imagination.Thirdly,Chenwei brings the narrative skill of concealment and revelation to the Soushen Ji.The arrangement of prophecy, ballad and dream skillfully sets “Grass Snake Grey Line” for the plot of the Soushen Ji.Fourthly,Chenwei brings elegant language features to the Soushen Ji.The use of good omen makes the Soushen Ji rhetorically luxuriant.Lastly,Chenwei also enriches the Soushen Ji with broader ideological connotation. In the acceptance of Chenwei,it shows the acceptance of the Interaction between Heaven and Mankind and Yin and Yang as well as the Five elements, the political attitude to divine right of kings, and the value orientation of adhering to ethics.
