Situational teaching method is one of the methods above that improve academic performance,stimulate interest and cultivate subjective initiative.Its flexible,vivid characteristics are deeply loved by teachers.Teachers can according to the teaching object,teaching goal and teaching content.In accordance with teaching objects,goals,contents and resources,teachers can develop variouslearning situations within learners’ living ranges to help them have immersive feelings.Vocabulary teaching occupies an important position in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language and is the most important task for language learners.Chinese vocabulary teaching is embodied in all types of Chinese courses,and runs through all stages of the elementary,intermediate and advanced levels.It is the foundation of Chinese learning for international students in China.At present,the common problems in elementary Chinese vocabulary teaching are the single teaching mode,the polysemy of a word,and the boring vocabulary class.Therefore,how to improve classroom teaching efficiency and stimulate students’ interest has become a problem to be solved by teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.Based on this,this article introduces the situational teaching method into the elementary Chinese vocabulary classroom,studies the feasibility and effectiveness of the application of the situational teaching method as an auxiliary teaching tool,and improves the student learning efficiency through teaching practice,so as to provide good teachers of Chinese as a foreign language.The research is based on cognitive theory,second language acquisition theory,and constructivist teaching theory.In order to study the current situation of the situational teaching method in elementary Chinese vocabulary teaching,the author adopts a questionnaire survey method.As foreign students and teachers to survey object,the survey subjects summarized the problems existing in Chinese vocabulary teaching.Finally I introduced the situational teaching method into the elementary Chinese vocabulary teaching classroom through teaching practice,and reflected on the application effect and made teaching suggestions.Through theoretical and practical research,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)For students,the situational teaching method can improve the efficiency of vocabulary learning of foreign students in China,and it is helpful to cultivate the ability of Chinese thinking and independent thinking of foreign students in China.(2)It is feasible for teachers to apply situational teaching method to elementary Chinese vocabulary teaching.Through situational teaching method,teachers can concentrate students’ attention,stimulate students’ interest in learning and improve classroom teaching efficiency.(3)For the situational teaching method itself,teachers should hold an objective and fair attitude.The situational teaching method is a tool to assist teaching,but it is not all of the teaching.The mother tongue of the foreign students in China is different,but they all have a certain degree of English.Therefore,combining the situational teaching method with other teaching methods can improve teaching efficiency.
