Nheritance And Protection Of Porcelain Carving Technology

Carved porcelain is a unique form of handicraft art among the folks with strong traditional feature.With its unique cultural elements and forms of artistic expression,it is closely associated with the development of ceramic culture and the advancement in craftsmanship.The subject of the dissertation is Zhong Liwei’s craftsmanship in carved porcelain.In the dissertation,the current state and the inheritance path of his craftsmanship is organized and analyzed,and the problems and good experience in the inheritance and development of Mr.Zhong’s carved porcelain craftsmanship,which is studied from the perspective of handicraft culture,are introduced.So far,the craftsmanship of Zhong’s carved porcelain has been passed on to the fourth generation;the skills or craft are mainly taught and learned by family members.In recent years,progress has been made in the instruments,polishing methods,coloring,and theme selection in Zhong’s carved porcelain.While having inherited the skills of porcelain carving of his family,Zhong Liwei invented new methods.And,with the artistic features of Zhong’s carved porcelain,namely "heavy,rough and rich in expression",they are interviewed and reported by many TV stations in China and are highly evaluated by the media.News on Calligraphy and Painting Market(Shu Hua Shi Chang Bao)gave it a special report and praised him as the "Master of Carved Porcelain in Contemporary China".In Selected Works of Famous Folk Craftsman in Contemporary China and Dictionary of Folk Artists in China,an introduction to Zhong Liwei and his works of carved porcelain has been given.The dissertation can be divided into five sections.First,the current state of Zhong’s carved porcelain and its inheritance has been organized.By carrying out investigation,visiting artists and referring to data,the features and history of Zhong’s carved porcelain,an intangible cultural heritage at the local level,Shenyang,are introduced.Second,the author analyzes Zhong’s carved porcelain,its craft features and artistic styles by communicating with,learning from Zhong Liwei,the inheritor of Zhong’s carved porcelain,and by practicing this form of art.Third,by learning about and analyzing the current state of the inheritance of Zhong’s carved porcelain,and its breakthrough in craft,a feasible plan for carved porcelain,an art form with local features,is given.Fourth,an analysis of the problems in the protection and inheritance of carved porcelain and their causes is given.Finally,a conclusion is drawn.As an intangible cultural heritage at the local level,Zhong’s carved porcelain has been confronted with challenges in inheritance and protection,with the development of the society and the transformation of life style and means of production.By using the inheritance and development of Zhong’s carved porcelain as an example,the dissertation gives an analysis of the feasible path for the protection and protection of intangible cultural heritage at the local level.
