Ethical Reflection On Contemporary Youth’s Fear Of Marriage

Love,marriage and family are the eternal themes of human life.No matter what,ancient or modern,human beings express and practice their respective views on love,marriage and family from different perspectives,so that human beings can live and inherit from generation to generation.The concept of love and marriage is people’s view or evaluation of love and marriage,and is the embodiment of people’s outlook on life,world outlook and values.Therefore,the concept of love and marriage will have different expressions and characteristics in different historical periods.In today’s era,with the rapid development of our social economy,the accelerating process of urbanization,the free and loose flow of population,and the weakening of blood and geographical relationship among social members,the number of contemporary youth who are "afraid of marriage" in love and marriage is increasing.The social phenomenon of "fear of marriage" is worthy of attention and research.Firstly,it explains what is "fear of marriage",and analyzes the people who fear marriage by describing the phenomenon of "fear of marriage";Second,through the analysis of the causes of contemporary youth’s "fear of marriage",such as: fear of marriage responsibility,fear of freedom restrictions after marriage,fear of high marriage consumption,fear of complicated wedding ceremony,fear of love loss after marriage and so on,so fear of marriage leads to "fear of marriage".Then it analyzes the negative social value brought by the phenomenon of "fear of marriage".Thirdly,it demonstrates theoretically what marriage should be:marriage should be the maturity of love,and puts forward the ethical principles to overcome the "fear of marriage" : the principle of marriage responsibility,the principle of personality freedom,the principle of changing customs,the principle of love basis.Fourth,it explores the ethical adjustment path to overcome the "fear of marriage" : the ethical sublimation from "I" to "we",the inheritance of excellent Chinese traditional culture,the correct guidance of public opinion,and the demonstration effect of family.
