Three Topics About Ancient History Legends From Unearthed Documents

Based on the guidance of the“dual evidence”method and previous studies,this paper mainly discusses the legend of ancient history such as the nature of Zhuolu涿鹿battle,the evolution of Gaoyao皋陶legend and the formation of Xia Xiangong夏先公lineage,and tries to put forward some new ideas.The first chapter explores the nature of the late rise legends such as Zhuolu涿鹿battle according to the unearthed documents.The battle of Zhuolu涿鹿reduced to the myth of God to stop Miao.The new Inscription of Yudingbi鱼鼎匕recorded Chiyou蚩尤as the leader of the three Miao.In the book of Shangbo Jian,the Rongshiyouchengshi融师有成氏,saying Chiyou蚩尤was a soldier in the early Xia Dynasty,so Chiyou蚩尤actually belonged to the Miao in the early Xia Dynasty.The relationship between the legend of Yu禹coquer miao and the myth of God suppressing Miao in plot shows that the battle of Zhuolu涿鹿can be traced back to the legend of Yu禹coquer miao in the period of the restoration of the battle of Zhuolu涿鹿to the myth of God suppressing Miao.In addition,this chapter also briefly demonstrates that the origin of Yao尧and Shun舜coquer miao legends and the myth of"Jueditiantong"绝地天通of Chong重and li黎can also be traced back to the legend of the Yu禹coquer miao.It can be seen that although some legends of late rising are from the evolution of myth and can not be regarded as historical facts,there may be earlier sources of legends waiting for us to reveal.The second chapter studies the early form and evolution of Gaoyao皋陶legend by using new literature.Gaoyao皋陶is the minist of Xiaqi夏启in the book of Houfu厚父in Tsinghua slips.The Guicang归藏of by wangjiatai Qinslips王家台秦简says that Xiaqi夏启was divinated Gaoyao皋陶,while the Fourgao四告also shows that Gaoyao皋陶consolidated the early Xia regime.This shows that Gaoyao皋陶was Xia minister in the early legends before the spring and Autumn period,and was the same as Yu禹and Qi启,the king of the Xia Dynasty.But under the influence of the legend of abdicating the Yao尧Shun舜Yu禹and the same lineage in the Warring States period,Gaoyao皋陶era was advanced to the period of Yao尧and shun舜.At the same time,the early legend elements such as Gaoyao皋陶formulate penalty and express kindness also changed a lot,and Gaoyao皋陶and Boyi伯益,who were originally assisted by Xiayu夏禹,even became father-child relationship.This shows that after the former people proved that the relationship between Yu禹and Yao尧Shun舜was late rising,the view that the relationship between Gaoyao皋陶and Yao尧、Shun舜in the legend of the court of Yu虞Dynasty was late rising has also been confirmed by unearthed documents.The third chapter is to investigate the formation of Xia Xiangong’s夏先公lineage with the unearthed text data.The records of Dayu’s大禹feeling of heaven and being the son of heaven in the Zigao子羔of Shangbo slips show that the establishment of the relationship between the father and the son of Yu禹is quite late,and there are great loopholes in the Xia Xiangong lineage.According to the relevant literature,Yu禹ang Gun鲧was who were ordered by God in the Western Zhou Dynasty,and became the ancestor of Xia who successively controlled the water in the spring and Autumn period and spread the myth of"Yu禹born on the stomach of Gun鲧".However,it was not until the late Warring States period that the relationship between the father and son of Gun鲧and Yu禹was completely established;At the same time,the God Zhuanxu颛顼,who was originally the"Juedi tiantong"绝地天通,gradually became the man king Zhuanxu颛顼,and became the father of Gun鲧,who was originally the"eldest son of the emperor".So far,the formation process of Xia Xiangong夏先公lineage from Zhuanxu颛顼to Yu禹has been basically restored,which provides a reference for us to understand the formation process of the whole great unification imperial lineage.
