Empty-nest youths,as the name implies,are young people who live alone.They struggle between ideals and reality.They usually struggle in big cities and are in the post-graduation and pre-marriage state.Whether it is a huge life pressure or a heavy psychological burden,it brings many negative emotions to the empty-nest youth.This illustration creation divides the empty-nest youth into two categories: the grow actively type and the escape from reality type.Two completely different attitudes to life are selected for comparison between the positive and negative dimensions,which arouses the positive and optimistic attitude of young people.Combining the Novel coronavirus pneumonia in 2020,this creation depicts the life state of empty-nest youths under the COVID-19,from panic to gradual adaptation.During the epidemic situation,the empty-nest youth are more physically and mentally vulnerable than before.This creation hopes to bring emotional resonance to the “empty-nest youth” in the epidemic situation.Fight the COVID-19 together in hard time,with one mind,and win the battle against the COVID-19.This article clarifies the definition of modern illustration through investigation and research methods and literature analysis methods,explores the development process of domestic and European illustration,and then summarizes flat style illustrations,three-dimensional illustrations,texture illustrations,hand-drawn illustrations and other expression styles based on cases.With the empty-nest youth as the background,it summarizes the reasons and characteristics of the empty-nest youth phenomenon and we need to guide the empty-nest youth correctly as a source of creative inspiration.Through online questionnaires and visits,we took some photos of empty-nest youths,and combined these materials to create.The method of this creation uses the form of hand-painted and board-painting,combined with a variety of styles of design and drawing,using centripetal composition method and triangular composition method,color using high saturation and low saturation contrast to draw different scenes,depicting The lives of two different empty-nest youths,and use light and shadow to draw different atmospheres,make the pictures more textured,and make the pictures more warm and life-like.It hopes to make readers struck a chord,and guide them out of the lonely,which is also in line with the aesthetic standards of today’s young people.Finally,the practice of "Empty-Nest Youth" in modern illustration design will be completed,and the "Empty-Nest Youth" will be passed on to viewers in the form of modern illustration art.And complete the work with illustrations,do the development and application of cultural creation and derivative works.Through this kind of empathy,the mentality and negative emotions in life of the "empty-nest youth" can be improved and channeled,and the youth’s psychological harmony can achieve social harmony.Guide young people to become the main force in the development of the country and the pillars of social construction.
