The Translation Of Cultural-loaded Expressions In Ningxia Local Literature Under The Guidance Of Domestication And Foreignization

Literature by xihaigu writers,as an important branch of Ningxia local literature,occupies a very important position in the Chinese literary world,and many works have won important awards in China.It’s a pity that the translated works are very few,which makes Ningxia local literature spreading abroad be left behind.Based on the translation of A Selection of Xifeng’s Prose(excerpt)and guided by domestication and foreignization,the author introduces the process of this translation task,and analyzes the translation skills that can be adopted in translating Ningxia local literature,aiming at providing reference for the translation of such articles.The main contents of the report include task description,task process,theoretical support,case analysis and conclusion.Firstly,the author introduces the source text and its content,and the significance of this translation task,and then she expounds the translation process,including pre-translation,while-translation and post translation.The fourth chapter of this report is case analysis,which details the corresponding translation skills adopted by the author for different cultural expressions under the guidance of domestication and foreignization,as well as the translation of specific related languages such as dialect vocabulary,Chinese idioms and dietary words;and she analyzes the translation methods and skills of these words by combining the source text with the target text.Finally,the author summarizes the translation practice,and reflects on the translation of similar words and the improvement of translators’ literacy,in order to provide reference for peers in dealing with the same type of Ningxia local literature texts.In the report,the author points out that translators should adopt a certain strategy or a combination of domestication and foreignization according to the specific context of the source text.
