Study On Rumors Of Genetically Modified Food From The Perspective Of Folklore

Food is the most important resource for human survival,and the development of contemporary agricultural technology has greatly improved food production.Since the birth of transgenic technology,the voice of doubt about it has never stopped,involving food safety,official credibility,public interest demands,political and economic conspiracy theory and other issues.Rumors are one of the forms of public questioning.From the perspective of folklore,the rumor of genetically modified food is an event with social and cultural significance.It originates from social events,including the folk narrative tradition of food and technology.Different social groups participate in the narration and jointly shape the rumor narration.This paper takes GM food rumors from the perspective of folklore and regards them as contemporary folk communication practice.Focusing on the two dimensions of text construction and social meaning construction,this paper sorts out the text content and form characteristics of rumors,constructs narrative tradition,and studies its social function and significance as power narrative.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the significance of the topic from two aspects of reality and theory,combs the academic history of ’ genetically modified’and ’rumor’ research,explains the core concepts of ’genetically modified food’and ’rumor ’,and determines the research methods and ideas.The main body of the paper includes four chapters.The first chapter is the text study of genetically modified food rumors.With the social events of genetically modified food that have a great influence since 2005 as the clue,the theme of rumors is combed.The genetically modified food rumors are formed under the common narration of the public,the mass media and the official.The rumor text is analyzed by the type research method of folk tales,and the rumor of genetically modified food presents the narrative mode of "harm-victim." The second chapter is the narrative tradition of GM food rumors.Place rumors in specific folk narrative tradition to observe its cultural origins.The rumors of genetically modified food express the alienation of modern technology to the inherent order,which is produced in the two narrative systems of technology alienation rumors and food safety rumors.Chinese cereal belief has shaped the farming and diet tradition of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.Rumors about genetically modified food express people’s call for tradition and fear of alienation.The third chapter is the study of transgenic conspiracy theory.In the course of the development of genetically modified food rumors,gradually typed,combined with the long-standing conspiracy theory tradition,formed a relatively fixed type.Genetically modified conspiracy theory has a fixed narrative theme and narrative strategy,presenting the survival anxiety of the nation since ancient times.The fourth chapter is the social significance of genetically modified food rumors.Narrating rumors is a process in which different social groups compete for discourse power.The binary opposition figure structure and communication mechanism of rumors jointly shape the power narrative of rumors,and food is also the material representation of power.The rumors of genetically modified food are not "flood beasts."We should constantly reflect on the rumors.As a major national strategy,how to steadily implement Biological breeding engineering in society,how to better protect people’s survival rights and social rights,and realize the stable development of society.
