| In modern language education,linguists are all believe that adequate comprehensible language input is the prerequisite for learning English well and improving practical communicative competence,while reading is the key to successful English learning.And reading is the most effective way for students to get information from the outside world,so it is necessary to improve reading training methods in the process of English teaching.But in the course of teaching,the author found that the teaching effect of reading course is not always satisfactory,and students don’t have good reading habits and are lacking reading skills.In the current English teaching of junior high schools in this region,neither the teachers’ emphasis on reading nor the students’ interest in reading are ideal.In view of this problem,this study will try to construct an English reading teaching model suitable for junior high school students and conduct an empirical study.As the core content of cognitive psychology,Schema theory has been widely used in reading comprehension teaching.Schema theory emphasizes the reader’s prior knowledge,means background knowledge.In reading teaching,teachers train students to consciously apply existing schema by providing relevant background knowledge,so as to improve their reading comprehension ability.Study first analyzes the present situation of two classes of students reading,through combing with schema theory and previous research results to further build a complete,scientific reading teaching mode,and verify the application practice model can successfully improve the students’ reading ability and reading interest,in order to provide some methods for junior middle school English reading teaching guidance and help.he research objects involved in this study are 78 students from Class 2 and Class 4 of Grade 8 in Lanzhou No.62 Middle School Class 4 is the experimental class and Class 2 is the control class.The experimental class adopted the teaching mode under the guidance of the schema theory constructed by the author,while the control class adopted the traditional teaching mode for a 16-week experiment.The study shows that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class,and the average score of English reading is improved more than that of the control class.,and the students’ interest in reading in the experimental class is much higher than that before the experiment.This indicates that under the guidance of schema theory teaching mode,students’ interest in English reading is significantly enhanced and their English reading ability is significantly improved. |
