The differences between English and Chinese can be found at various levels,and the aesthetic tendency is also different.They have formed their own unique styles in literary language expression.It is essential for literary translation to research the ways to achieve aesthetic correspondence in the conversion between Chinese and English.As a special genre,essay translation concerns not only the translation of language,but also the translation of style,the transmission of rhythm and the transplantation of culture.Essay is full of real emotions,vivid language images,harmonious phonology and beautiful sounds,profound and long artistic conception,and has a variety of aesthetic elements.Translation aesthetics theory is the product of translation and aesthetics,and has a guiding function for literary translation practice,especially poetry and essay.Based on the author’s practice and by citing the relevant expositions of aesthetic theory,this article selects some examples to discusses how to convey the aesthetic conception from the formal system and the non-formal system to achieve the greatest degree of equivalence in essay translation.On the question of how to convey the beauty of the original work,the translation aesthetics theory provides a methodological reference for the English translation of Chinese essay.The translation task of this study is mainly the English translation of the four essays in Mr.Jia Pingwa’s Into the Future Alone.The selected chapters are "Sound of Spinning Wheels","Drinking","Knock on the Door","Waiting",and "Into the future alone".The topics involved in the materials mainly include childhood,family and human relationships.The style of Mr.Jia Pingwa’s essay is both traditional and modern,realistic and lofty.The language is simple,delicate,exquisite and intriguing.With subtle narratives and close details,he writes the true state of daily life.For every daily trivial scene,the reader’s innermost emotions are mobilized.Selected essay is used as translation practice materials,the translator tries to analyze the characteristics of essay translation and the problems in translation practice.Choosing the appropriate theory as the guiding theory,the author puts forward some feasible strategies to deal with the problems encountered in practice,so as to accumulate more experience for future translation.
