A Study Of The Traveling Theme In The Paintings Of The Song And Yuan Dynasties

Since ancient times,the theme of travel has occupied an important position in the painting themes of the past dynasties.The travel activities of the ancients and the vast natural landscape not only have a practical connection,but also a close spiritual fit.Traveling themes,as an important branch of Song and Yuan paintings,provides important historical references for us to explore the social outlook,the living conditions of travelers,and the thoughts and thoughts of this period.This article takes the travel themes in the Song and Yuan Dynasties as the research object,analyzes the background of the prosperity of travel themes in this period,and discusses the layout performance and changes in the construction of travel space,and analyzes the changes in objects and brushwork in combination with Feng Shui and spatial layout.The intertextual relationship between the picture and the travel-inscribed poems and the changes in the image and status of the traveler in the image,study the changes in material and spiritual culture of travel,and explore the changes in travellers’ mood during travel activities.The main body is divided into four parts.The first part traces the source of travel activities and defines travel themes:Any work that takes travel activities as the theme or shows travel elements in the screen can be regarded as travel themes.The second part analyzes the reasons for the prosperous travel theme in the paintings during the Song and Yuan Dynasties,and discusses from three aspects:political promotion,economic and trade development,and philosophical observation.Politically,based on the importance of the ruling class and the promotion of related systems,on the one hand,travel activities of all classes have increased,and on the other hand,politically frustrated people use travel images to interpret their moods.Economic aspects:First,the breaking of the boundaries of the market has promoted economic and trade exchanges and development,and the second is the increasing demand for artworks from the citizen class.In terms of philosophy,Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism were further integrated and developed during this period.The prevalence of hermit thoughts,Leshan and Leshui thoughts,and the influence of Neo-Confucianism have jointly promoted the development of travel maps.The third part analyzes the artistic expression of travel themes during the Song and Yuan Dynasties,mainly discussing from four aspects.First,analyze the spatial layout from the perspectives of feng shui and geometric aesthetics,discussing the changing laws and metaphors of travel space and composition during this period;second,discussing the meaning of objects and pens in travel themes in paintings from Song to Yuan Analyze the role and implied meaning of palaces and pavilions and boats and bridge pavilions in the painting,as well as the characteristics and reasons of the vigorous and simple pen and ink technique;thirdly,analyze the travel pictures and travel during the Song and Yuan dynasties The intertextual relationship between the inscribed poems is that they are both complementary and complementary to each other,and they are combined into one.The fourth part explores the transition of travel pictures from the "natural journey" that focuses on objective images to the "spiritual journey" that integrates the artist’s emotions.The inner activities of the "province" in the Yuan Dynasty changed.
