| ICTs is changing the world generally and completely. The new ethical problems brought about by information require people to see and solve them in new ways.In this context,Oxford University professor Luciano Floridi proposed a new ethics-information ethics,a non-standard,agent-oriented,ontology-centric Macroethics. This article will start with the birth of information ethics, gradually analyze the philosophical foundation and normative theory of Floridi’s information ethics, and discuss the significance of information ethics to the transformation of human ethical perspectives in the information age and its limitations.Floridi believes that information ethics is not an ethics about virtue, happiness or responsibility, but an ethics about respect for the agent and the care shown by the Agent. It is an ethics about the happiness of moral agent in the infosphere.Information is existence;information and infosphere are the ontological foundation of information ethics.Floridi also put forward his own unique view of good and evil.He believes that all information is good. All informosome should be respected. On this basis,Floridi put forward four norms of information ethics.Entropy should not be generated in the infosphere. The increase of entropy in the infosphere should be prevented. The entropy in the infosphere should be eliminated.Should increase happiness in the entire infosphere.Floridi also proposed the concept of artificial evil. The criticism of information ethics mainly focuses on the following points:Floridi’s understanding of good and evil is too simple.Floridi’s point of view has problems with relativism, and the fact that information ethics is not applicable in practice. In the context of globalization, information ethics is one of our best tools for cross-cultural communication. And information ethics provides us with a new way of looking at the world. |
