| The 2017 edition of English Curriculum Standard for senior high school puts forward the Core Quality of English discipline,among which the cultivation of thinking quality is one of the important objectives of English Teaching in senior high school.Cultivating students’ thinking quality is conducive to improving their ability to analyze and solve problems,enabling them to observe and understand the world from a cross-cultural perspective,and make correct value judgments.On the other hand,high school English classroom is still dominated by language learning,ignoring the cultivation of thinking and the integration of interdisciplinary knowledge and cultures,so it is difficult to achieve the training goal of the Core Quality of subj ects set by the curriculum standard.Based on the cognitive development theory and the CLIL teaching theory,this study attempts to explore the interdisciplinary classroom teaching based on the improvement of thinking quality with the method of action research,in order to answer the following research questions:Can the implementation of Interdisciplinary English Teaching in senior high school improve the thinking quality ofs enior high school students?This problem mainly includes the following three sub-problerns:1.What is the present situation of thinking quality in senior high school students?2.How to carry out interdisctplinary English teaching in senior high school?3.What is the effect of English interdisciplinary teacing in senior high school on improving students’ thinking quality?In view of the above problems this study takes 41 students from two small English classes in Class 1 and Class 2 in Grade 2 of Senior High School of YZ in Ningbo City,Zhejiang Province as the research object,and conducts two rounds of interdisciplinary teaching action research based on the improvement of thinking quality in two semesters of normal English class.First of all,the author conducted relevant pilot research through questionnaire survey and sampling interview to get a general understanding of the current levels of students’ thinking quality,as well as the current situation and existing problems of interdisciplinary teaching.On this basis,the author developed two rounds of action research programs.The first round of reserch facuses on the interdisciplinary teaching process of improving thinking quality from three aspects of logicality,criticality and innovation.The second round of research improves the interdisciplinary teaching process on the basis of the first round Finaly,through questionnaire survey,sampling interview and other means to obtain relevant information,the author carried out quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results for the study.It is found that high school English interdisciplinary teaching improve students’ thinking quality,and interdisciplinary teaching can improve students’ thinking quality in three aspects:logic,criticism and innovation.This study aims to explore the effective ways to improve students’ comprehensive thinking quality through the interdisciplinary teaching of senior high school English.Based on this research,we hope to carry out more follow-up researches,and provide some reference for English classroom teaching to achieve the real goal of classroom education. |
