A Study Of Liu Defang’s Folk Tales

As an important part of Chinese folk literature,liu defang and his stories play an important role in enlightening people’s daily life in xiabaoping,a village with a specially geographical environment.Liu defang used stories to spread local knowledge,construct local history and tell local culture.He also used stories to tell the life of the people in his hometown,to shape their character and cultivate their spiritual world.It can be said that liu defang’s folk tales are the living cultural relics of the folk culture in The Three Gorges Area and the epitome of the growing Chinese rural society.By telling stories,he reproduces,understands and interprets the events that have happened and expresses his life values.At the same time,the researcher can understand the life world and spiritual world of liu defang through the interpretation of the story.Therefore,liu defang is not only the representative inheritor of the "xiabaoping folk tales" project.In the folk culture category,it is undoubtedly of multiple cultural,social and political significance to take liu defang’s experience,temperament,types,themes,narration and aesthetics of the inherited works as a case study.This paper takes liu defang and his folk tales as the object to carry out research.The paper is divided into three parts:The first chapter begins with the collection of the cultural space,folk story atmosphere and story collection in xiabaoping township,liu defang’s hometown,and summarizes the creation of liu defang’s folk stories."folk tale of xiabaoping " was included in the first batch of state-level non-material cultural heritage protection list in 2006,as the "folk tale of xiabaoping " project representative inheritance,Liu defang has experienced from the "masters of the traditional story" to "storyteller" identity transformation,which caused attention from all walks of life,and formed the five record version of Liu defang’s stories.The second chapter classifies and studies liu defang’s folk tales.Combined with the text analysis,we can,based on the elements of the characters for "person of the villagers","Jian Duo type characters","function" three types of study,unearth the story meaning of the folk position,folk perspective,folk culture,people’s expectation and power of folk discourse patterns,analyzing directly and indirectly change and influence of Liu defang’s folktales in people life practice and communication practice.The third chapter introduces related theories of folklore and narrate to interpret the narrative strategies of liu defang’s folk stories.Starting from the humorous,poetic tradition and colloquial features of the stories,it studies how liu defang told the stories in a way that was attractive,interesting and aesthetically enjoyable.Finally,according to the previous three parts research and discussion,combined with the current status of intangible cultural heritage protection in our country,we can propose that the protection of folklore is to give it "the second life",That is,through collective creation,collective enjoyment and collective preservation,the study of folk literature can be unified with the life practice of the public and the world of meaning,helping people deeply understand the meaning of the present and future.
