College students are in an important period of transition from childhood to adulthood,beginning to expand from family-centered kinship to relationships outside the home,and peer interaction is becoming increasingly important for college students.Self-differentiation refers to that individuals have the ability to balance their intellect and emotion,and maintain their close dependence and independence in their interactions with key people.Family factors have an important impact on the establishment and development of college students peer relationships in past and now,and the early experience of individuals and adopters will be the basis for our interpersonal relationships.This study explores the subjective experiences of the development of college students’ peer interaction from the perspective of self differentiation,and how is the family system influence the development of college students peer interaction.The research adopts the qualitative research methods of in-depth interview.The study recruited three male college students and five female college students from a university in Beijing.The research designed a semi-structured outline for respondents,and through the in-depth interviewed to understand the companion interaction development of college students,and psychological experience and feelings of family system impact of college studengts peer interaction.The results are as follows:(1)From the perspective of interpersonal self-differentiation,respondents shared the development changes of the subjective experience of peer interaction mainly include four aspects: ?The change of the mood response:Individual is more sensitive,easy to emotional in the secondary stage,and in the university stage,individual have learn rational restraint and try to use some channels to express and adjust own emotions;?the changes of emotional attachment: Individual close contact with peers,there is no secret between each other in the secondary stage,but in the university stage,individual’s interpersonal boundaries gradually appear,began to have reservations and the pursuit of self-independence;?the change of self-position: In secondary school,individual highlights differences,resulted in conflicted,but in college,individual recognizing differences between peers and starting to learn to understand,accommodate,accept each other,remaining independent and taking into account the feelings of peers;? the change of fusion with others: In the secondary stage,peer exchanges is pure and individual had possession for the friendship,but the peer interaction of individual pursue harmony and mutual trust,but also began to appear utilitarian in the university stage.(2)Some respondents showed their unique characteristics in the development of peer interaction due to the particularity of individual growth experience,it’s that the emotional response showed intellectual or emotional;emotional dependency showed lack of intimacy in the companion;self-position showed lack of self-position,or self-centeredness;fusion with others showed pursuit of harmony,relocation of companion or excessive involved.(3)The family system factors of college students peer interaction’s influence factors mainly includes: Parents and parent-child interaction,parents’ personality traits,the emotional intimacy of parent-child,intergenerational transitivity,the way of family rearing.From the perspective of interpersonal self-differentiation theory,this study uses the method of qualitative research to find out the development and changes of subjective experiences of college ctudents’ peer interaction and the factors of the family system that influence the development of college students’ peer interaction This study provides a new perspective for understanding the establishment and development of college students’ peer relationships.
