Translation Report On The Chinese-russian And Chinese-english Translation Of The Excerpt From The Book Living Awkwardly Like Me

The present paper is a translation report on the translation of the exerpt from the book Living Awkwardly Like Me by Liao Yimei.As there are three languages involved into translation process(Chinese,Russian and English),the author called it a trilingual translation.The research is devoted to a detailed description and analysis of the various translation transformations that occur during trilingual translation process of a literary text.The first two chapters contain the background of the report and analysis of the original text,its structure and specific problems that occured during translation process.The fourth chapter is devoted to the description of the theoretical framework of the research.Finally,the author performed the analysis of Russian and English versions of translation based on translation transformations theory.In the process of work,the features of trilingual literary translation and application of transformations towards trilingual translation were revealed.To solve the tasks in this paper,the following methods were used: descriptive method,quantitative and comparative analysis of the transformations.The theoretical basis for the study is complied by the classification of translation transformations proposed by Barkhudarov(1975)that divides all possible translation transformations into four main groups: permutation,substitution,addition and omission.The theoretical significance of the work is determined by the first comprehensive study of the translation transformations in trilingual translation.The practical value of this work lies in the possibility of further use of the material for study of trilingual translation and translation transformations in the course of theory and practice of translation.
