| As one of the four basic skills of listening,speaking,reading and writing,English reading occupies an important position in English teaching.The Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)proposes that the objectives of the compulsory education English curriculum include paying attention to students’ interest in learning English,cultivating students’ cooperative spirit,and being willing to cooperate with others.Therefore,in the process of English reading teaching,teachers can stimulate students’ interest in English reading and mobilize learning enthusiasm by encouraging students to actively cooperate with others,so that students are willing to learn,and then improve the teaching effect.The STAD cooperative learning mode is an effective teaching mode in cooperative learning,it requires students to study cooperatively in a group,and recognizes and rewards students according to the improvement score.Applying this mode to English reading teaching in junior high school can effectively cultivate students’ cooperative spirit,stimulate students’ interest in reading and improve their English reading scores.Therefore,it is necessary to apply the STAD cooperative learning mode to English reading teaching in junior high school.This research is based on the theory of the zone of proximal development,using questionnaire,test paper,and interview,selecting two parallel classes,Class 4(experimental class)and Class 3(control class)of Grade 9 in the High School Affiliated to Kashi University as the research objects.Through a three-month teaching experimental research,the conventional method is used to teach English reading in the control class,and the STAD cooperative learning mode is adopted in the experimental class,this research aims to inquiry the influence of the STAD cooperative learning mode to English reading teaching in junior high school:1.Does the application of STAD cooperative learning mode in junior high school English reading teaching help to improve students’ English reading interest?2.Does the application of STAD cooperative learning mode in junior high school English reading teaching help to improve students’ English reading scores?The experimental data is analyzed using SPSS 22.0,through the analysis of the questionnaire data,it is concluded that the application of STAD cooperative learning mode to English reading teaching in junior high school is conducive to improving students’ English reading interest;through the analysis of the students’ test paper data,the application of STAD cooperative learning mode to English reading teaching in junior high school is conducive to improving students’ English reading scores.And in order to understand the students’ feelings in the English reading class of the STAD cooperative learning mode,the author conducts the interview in the experimental class.The students who participate in the interview like the English reading class of the STAD cooperative learning mode,they think that the application of this mode is helpful to mobilize learning enthusiasm,and they are willing to cooperate with others to complete learning tasks together.In short,the effective application of STAD cooperative learning mode in junior high school English reading teaching can increase students’ interest in reading,and mobilize students’ learning enthusiasm,and help improve students’ English reading scores,it is an effective English teaching method.Therefore,the author summarizes the relevant issues and gives educational implications for junior high school English reading teaching,however,due to the limited ability and research time of the author,there are certain limitations,the author summarizes the shortcomings and hopes to be relevant in the future teaching research and teaching practice provide reference. |
